Key FOB issue
The other day I managed to drop my key fob on the pavement. After picking it up, I was unable to lock the door. I tried to reprogram the key and had no luck. So I decided to replace the battery. I was then able to get it to learn the fob again, however, the next day, it seemed to have forgotten it. My car can't seem to retain this in memory.
Any ideas what else to try?
Side note: I only have one key/fob so when it prompts to learn the second key, I just clear out the DIC and remove the key from ignition. Test the key to see if it works and then lock the car.

It's a pretty common symptom for a 2000.
