Default Corvette Aftermarket Exhaust

What do you recommend for a nice sounding Corvette exhaust for my C5? Borla, Corsa, MAgnaflow, Etc.
I want a nice idle sound as well as a nice sound going down the road. Not to extreme.
Someone told me Billy Boat Route 66? I would like to hear them first. Is You Tube the only place.

Thanks for answering!

I've liked Corsa Pace Car system so well that I've had them on both C5's that I've had.

You are not going to feel the exhaust note on any You tube sound bite.. a Corvette exhaust note is heard, not only by your ears but through the seat of your pants.
I have Corsa Indy Pace car. I've had them on my car for 13 years, they are guaranteed for life, I could sell them tomorrow and get 700 dollars for them, They owe me nothing .. But then what would I put on.. The Corsa are absolutely perfect for me. Also no one can tell you what you like. you have to experience it yourself.. Everyone will tell you what they have, So any suggestions here would be totally self serving.

According to what sound you want

Lower to mid tones and loud: Borla

Race Car Sound, no drone: Corsas

Lower tone and loud: GHL

I have Corsa Extreme BTW, and love em.. Not sure how they will sound when I add headers.

Lots of valid thoughts here, by others.

One more thing you can consider. C5 Z06 titanium cat backs are a nice add-on to C5 coupe or vert. And a perfect fit.

They are much lighter, will never rust, and have a bit deeper mellower sound than stock cat-backs. Much improved air flow, by all accounts.

And you can find them for sale, by Z owners wanting something different.

I added them to mine, after the SuperCharger install, and love them.

On my '00, I had a B&B Route 66 catback system - great looks, but tons of drone and popping. Had to finally install an X-pipe to get it tolerable.

I now have a Corsa Indy Pace Car on my '03 and love it. No drone, great sound at idle and when you step down on the gas, and hard to beat the quality and looks. Corsa is what I would recommend.

Everybody has a different preference, find a club or show and hear some for yourself. I have GHL Bullets, love the deep idle, no drone, slightly louder at cruise, and a positively glorious howl at WOT. Some say it's an old school sound, not exotic like this new firing order can give.

I'll throw another one in the mix. I have the LG Motorsports Big 3 on my '04 Convertible. Works nicely with rest of the 3" exhaust. It has a good deep rumble to it, much quieter than I initially expected. The previous exhaust that was on it when i got it sounded good but was obnoxious, especially when I have to drive home at 3AM sometimes. Looked like a knock-off of the Borla Stinger setup.

C5 Z06 Ti mufflers and cut outs. Probably the best exhaust system you can get for the car.

And they don't sag.

Corsa or GHL are the best you'll find. I have the GHL Bullets and couldn't be happier with them.

My new exhaust is shipping this week supposedly.

I was looking for an as-loud-as-I-can-get-it setup. Wound up going B&B Bullets.

Before I ordered, I did get to hear a few setups in person. The B&B PRT exhaust is still pretty loud and doesn't drone from what I've heard. The Route 66 system isn't much louder than stock, so I didn't see the value there.

As for the Corsa systems, I just wasn't a fan of the tone. BUT....that's subjective. You might LOVE the sound and hate the bullets!

I YouTube'd the crap out of the setups, but as someone else said the sound bites aren't accurate. I wound up attending a local meet and hearing them in person. That really helped me decide what I would want on my own car.

Whatever you do, good luck!
