Default Correct Install for Drilled and Slotted Rotors

What direction are the slots supposed to point when installed correctly. I have one set where the outside diameter of the slot on the rotor enters the caliper first and another set where the inside diameter of the slot on the rotor enters the caliper first. I believe this second case is correct but I wanted to check with the experts. Thanks!

Never mind - found it. Second case is correct. Off to the brake shop to have a set of rotors swapped.

Glad you got it straightened out. BTW, the manufacturer of the rotors usually has instructions, perhaps on their web site, for proper install of the rotors.

The direction of the slots is not important... it's the direction of the vanes that you need to worry about.

Different manufacturers will design theirs in either direction. The correct slot direction for one brand may not be the same as another.

The slots mean nothing.

Its a common mistake to view slots as the discriminator of rotation. Coming to a forum like this , where correct information can be disseminated, makes this forum what it is.
I've posted my Rotors hundreds of times over the years , only to have some well intentioned ( but clueless ) member tell me " I have them on the wrong side ".

Thank you... its only because I like it too. Seriously, sometimes a picture is worth a lot less arguments. I've owned 21 new cars in my life..This is by far , the most enjoyable from a feedback point of view
..
Its not too shabby for a 15 year old car with almost 100,000 miles. No chips or dings and everything works like the day I bought it. Of course it has evolved over the years, and it actually get way more compliments now then it did when I first bought it new.
