Be patient, I looked and waited for four years, and when the right Z06 landed on me I jumped on it.
The first one I wanted I hesitated, and the owner sold it. i was furious.

Might be a good car. They have one that is blue I believe. Modded to the hilt and back. Definitely not a cherry buy.

I found "The One" 2001 Z06 with 43000 miles, and looks like new. Apparently it ate a valve about 7000 miles ago, so the owner had a new LS6 put in. Now if I can get home before he sells it.

Love my FRC. Big cube LS6, built trans and diff, LG coil overs, etc. Runs circles around Z06's all day long, and easier on the pocketbook. Plus, it's the best color.

All things being equal, I would prefer the Z06. It has better gearing, cooling, and lots of other little differences.
However, all things are not equal. As a couple other posters mentioned, the price difference between similar FRC's and Z06 can be $5k or more. That kind of money buys a lot of upgrades to the FRC!
Last winter I set a budget of $20k. I ended up with a higher-mile, built FRC for a few $k under that figure and could not be happier. Sold a few of the parts from the car, added some more to get it 'just the way I wanted it', and for the $20k it's perfect.
