Looking to upgrade to a C5
Which C5 to get, I was eyeing up a 2004 Z06. Are these the fastest of the C5 vettes? I have read they can do a 11 second 1/4 mile. I was going to build up my C4 with TPI but they will only do 12's. so I like the styling of the C5 and best of all the headlights flip up not like the ugly C6.
Just wondering if I am missing a better C5 than the Z06.

As built by GM, the '02 - '04 Z-06 is the fastest C5.
However, you will find many modified C5's for sale (coupes, vert's, FRC's and Z-06's) that are considerably faster than a factory Z-06.
Depends on what you want.

Depends on what you want to do with it? Are you going to just cruise with it? Probably a convertible. Are you going to use it as a daily driver? Probably a coupe or even a convertible (depending on your climate). Are you going to use it as a track car? Z06.
And yes, stock for stock, a Z06 is faster than it's coupe/vert counterpart.

And I'm not sure a stock C5 Z06 will do an 11 sec 1/4 mile - but they will get pretty darn close (probably very low 12s).

A stock '02-'04 Z06 is out of the box the best bang for the buck. It's also a better platform (beefier rear end) for added HP. But I like my targa top.
