Default C5 Horn Issues

I have a 2000 and my horn stopped working. I checked the fuse and it was blown and replaced it. Horn still didnt work. Checked relay and its fine. Hit horn to see if it worked and it didn't. But the fuse didn't blow and the relay is clicking. Where do I look next?

The membrane switch itself is a known issue...Usually it won't stop honking but I would assume, the contacts could cause an open condition. They are readily available on Ebay. You could pull the airbag and check continuity of the membrane before ordering one.

Default C5 Horn Problem

My 2000 did not work when I put it away last winter. This spring , to my surprise , it started to work again . Now it decided to not work . Would that be the horn contact switch or what ? Panic button makes horn work fine !
Thanks , Bob

If the horns don't work with 12 volts directly to them they could look like this inside; http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...idnt-work.html.

They work fine with the panic button on remote , which obviously sends a 12volt signal to the horns . I'm wondering about the horn contact at steering wheel .
Thanks, Bob

My problem was in the steering wheel, Dealer removed air bag and used graphite. Cost $120.00.
