Default Got the C5 I've been looking for! Woohoo!

I thought it would never happen this year buuuut, I found and purchased my C5 Conv!!!! I've been looking for months to see if I could find a 01 C5 Conv. with 50k to 100k miles AND Magnetic Red for under $15k..... and then I found one! After several emails for a few weeks, the seller finally sold it me He was VERY reluctant to sell (we even had a "talk" about what it was gonna be - yes or no lol), but we later found out that his old lady wanted their house "upgraded" and funds were short plus the car was kept in memory to his late grandmother who basically paid for it... As I said, it took several weeks to finally get the guy to let us get it (talk about being anxious and sleepless nights lol). I am so glad I was patient and waited for him!

Well enough of that! It is a 2001 Magnetic Red Conv. with a black top, Black and Shale interior, ZR1 18/19 rims (gonna be selling them soon - they are nice but I don't really like them), Lambo doors (they open normally as well - I assume they're nice for shows lol), Corsa Touring exhaust (LOVE IT!!!!) and those white glow gauges (I don't like them - gonna swap out soon).

The owner has waay too many toys lol - ATVs, RV's, Restoration Cars, etc. I am saying this cos this C5 was kinda neglected when it came to the cosmetics. Interior was very dusty and body looked like it never been PROPERLY washed and waxed Well.... lets say I started out with a clay bar yesterday and my arms are still hurt this morning!

I've never been so excited while driving THIS (I've had several customised cars btw) Even before I started detailing it! I will post a pic soon!! Oh and btw, it took us almost 24 hours of driving total going through many states, to go get it. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box lol. Anyways as I said in between the lines, I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok its finally time to go edit my signature on here woohoo

LOL Thanks and I was actually expecting that "worthless without pics" haha! I'll take some of the exterior today, if I can manage to hold the camera up lol.

Good purchase, and when you start looking for interior stuff, I believe in 01 it was called "light oak". It could also be "light gray". Check the code on the glove box door to be sure. (It will have 67 in it for light oak and 92 for light gray. I know shale was only in 03 and 04 special editions (anniversary and commemorative) Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The light gray has much less brown and may be what you're calling shale.

THANKS for all the nice comments. Man I tell you, this is one of the nicest auto related forums on the net

Here ya go guys!! I could write alot about how I feel right now about it but I need to hurry up and get to work so I can get money to do (nice) stuff to it Lets just say compared to all the other custom imports, etc. I have had in the past... I LOVE MY VETTE THE MOST!!!!

Thanks to my fiancee for helping with the drive back. Drove over 24 hours total to pick this up
I rested a little when we got home and then woke up and detailed the exterior for over 8 hours! Did not want to take dirty pics lol - it was kept away and very dusty. Previous owner has way too many toys lol.

Wait til I'm done with this bad boy

I suggest you drive it a while before you decide to lower.
