Default What's this LS7 worth?

I have a friend that purchased an '09 C6 Z06 a few months ago. The person that had the car before had put nitrous on it for drag racing but pulled it off to sell the car. I believe the car had around 30k miles and the car had a miss that never could be fixed. It was later found that it had burned rings so my friend order a brand new complete LS7 to go in the car. They want to sell the engine that’s coming out. What’s it worth like it is? No I'm not looking to buy it myself but it will be for sale.

I would give $50 for it!
In all seriousness though, a 30k ls7 that's been juiced previously is gonna scare off some buyers.. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on them can chime in.

it will have to have rings for sure. The oil pressure was normal.

LS7's make nice lawn ornaments...
After they all throw rods, and blow holes in the cylinder walls.
tick tock, tick tock, tick tock..... kaboom !!!

I wouldn't give .10 cents for one.
That's the most embarrassing engine ever put in a Corvette, of all generations.

I wouldn't say it's embarrassing.... It's brilliant, but just doesn't hold up like a corvette engine should.

Before I would ever want it I would want it checked out by a good mechanic - and get a quote on what it would cost to make it reliable again.

Not sure I would consider a brand new one "reliable" haha.

'brilliant engines' are not known for blowing rods out the side of the block!!!

But you are right that the LS7 'just doesn't hold up'.

Honestly I'm not sure what the motor is worth, it's tough calling a value on a scared motor. As far as the LS7 being an embarrassment, well I don't think I'd go that far. Anything that runs circles around most cars from the factory is pretty good IMO.
