Default Xlr-v

I had the chance to drive a Cadillac XLR-V last night. What a car! As much as I like my 99 coupe, I could easily be drawn to this car. The performance seemed killer. Does anyone know how it compares to a stock c5 coupe? I do know the XLR-V is about 500 lbs. heavier.

I always like those cars. If you could get them with a 6 speed manual I would be kinda interested.

The guy down the street had a black one. Has gotten rid of it though. I never got to drive it.

It is nice, I think I would rather have a CTS/V, Supercharged 4 door.

The XLR-V is nice, but I just think the CTS-V is a better car.

Oh, it's no doubt a better car. I would still have the xlrv though. It's style speaks to me more than the CTS.

I'd go for one if I had the chance. Made in the same factory different line than the C5 was. Retractable hard top to convertible is cool.

A C5 Corvette with a luxury interior and appointments.

They have 443 Horsepower and weigh about 3900 lbs they can hit 60 in the mid 4's and the 1/4 in high 12's @ 111. That's gear for gear with a C5.

They were built in the same factory as the Vette. Remember, they were only around a couple years, getting parts will be a challenge as time goes on, especially if you get one of the Supercharged versions.

Before GM made the ZR1 LS-9 engines it hand built the LC-3 Northstar 4.4 liter at the Wixom plant, http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eng...c/0504em_cady/. New XLR-V's sold for around $110k and now used about $50k.

My buddy has an '05 CTS-V (he also has a '05 Z51 coupe), that car is a lot of fun. After we upgraded the clutch and added the pinion brace, that car was a beast. His ex got the Caddy in the divorce, he kept the Corvette.

XLR looks awesome and would be a fun cruiser. CTS is in no way better unless you need 4 doors for some reason - at which point I think the G8 looks better.

There is the new CTS-V coupe 2 door

One advantage with the newer technology CTS is the optional magnetic ride suspension and other more modern upgrades to ride.

Don't know if magnetic ride is a PLUS. Overly complicated costly system for not a lot of upside IMHO.
