Run Flat or Not, that is the question
I currently have 2 good run flats on the rear and am in need of new front tires. Would it be noiser and a rougher ride if I DO NOT put run flats on the front wheels?

Non-runflats are generally quieter than runflats because of the stiff sidewalls. They're also about half the cost.
There have been a ton of postings and discussions about the wisdom of running runflats and non-RF together- but as long as you don't mix/match on the same axle, I'm not sure it's an issue.
Use the search feature if you want to read other comments - - there are other folks that think running to different types of tire constrauction's a bad idea.
Just my .02-

You can't mix the technology, ( actually you can but its not recommended and a perfect opportunity to lose control. ) Many shops will not mix run flat and non run flat technology. The side wall of a run flat is not as forgiving as a conventional tire and only gets stiffer and harder as time goes on. .

I personally would not mix runflats and non-runflats. Heck, for the price of two new runflats, you can just about buy a complete set of non-runflats. Look at the Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs - they can be had for around $650 for a complete set.

Thanks everyone...now I have a decision to make cause I have 2 slightly used run flats on the Vette and I don't want to mix technology, nor do I want to just take off the run flats and spend money on 4 tires instead of 2..... Oh well I guess, I asked!!

You might be able to peddle your two Runflats on local Craig's list to recover a little dough . . . a set of 4 Nitto 555's- a good choice-- would run $725 out the door at Discount Tire or one of the other big chains--- just as a comparison.
You might also help yourself by adding your city to your profile . . never know, someone might want your old tires if they're close.
Good luck-

IMHO I'd rather pay a bit more for runflats and turn up the radio to compensate for the noise than have to buy a new set of rims in the event of large pothole or similar.

I have some run flats that are getting old. Just priced Michelin A/S3's out the door at Costco for $950. I already have AAA that has never been used, hopefully it will stay that way.

non runflats and a $15 tire inflator kit at walmart is my vote. Pocket the price difference for some mods, and enjoy the quieter ride, better grip and longer wear.
