Are you really going to gamble 2700$ for a product they may or may not deliver?

Or...have to return because the ones they send you suck?

In hindsight, I'd stay far away from L5. I'd go with TPE.

Personally I don't like the look of the L5 flared front's anyhow.

Deal at your own risk.

Anyhow, my L5's are coming out pretty good so far (but took a lot to fit right):

Bad batch or not, Where is the quality control? I am still thinking of getting rear flairs, I can tell you this they won't be these.

Does TPE make custom front and rear sizes?

Oh, that's right...you need custom sizes. Not sure man.

Others on the forum may know.

Overall I really like the look of the L5 rears but they've been a PITB to fit and L5 as a company has become terrible to deal with.

Having to send back the first flares and now splash guards is one thing. For them not to reply and continue to become as flaky as hell, is a whole 'nother level.

As far as what I see, those should have been destroyed by the manufacturer once they took them from the mold. Even considering trying to pass them off on a customer has to raise questions about the integrity of the vendor. Mistakes do happen in the manufacturing process but those are FAR beyond a salvageable mistake. JMHO

I own a set of L5 rear flares. What I received required a serious amount of adjustment to make them fit the car. The shop that I used did an outstanding job of the rework necessary but I paid no small amount for that work to correct the vendor LACK of workmanship. They were not the trash that you received but far less than I would have expected for the price I paid.

NO WAY I would recommend or ever buy from that vendor again.........

Why don't some people learn? They have been written up for poor quality and service, time and time again. Try and get your $$$$ back and run to another vendor.

Would I do it again? Probably not - I'd go with TPE (which I didn't even realize were an option because they're non-existent on the net).

I really wanted to go with the carbon creations fenders due to seemingly better quality (and who wouldn't want nice carbon over glass) but I just can't get past the look.

The CC fenders are nice but I really prefer the look/design of the L5's (or TPE's for that matter).
Is TPE still in business? Website? Phone number? I liked the looks of both their C5 rear and front flares.

I remember when they first opened there was countless customers complaining here about parts to engine builds with no return phone calls, emails, etc....

I've had my L5's for years and just recently was looking at their front flares and also their scaled down flares for the rear that are more subtle. A member here with a green convertible C5 installed them along with factory C6z wheels and the car looks amazing. Additionally he added Grand Sport front fender stripes,,,I'm open to cross generation wheels but his car is first I've liked with the white stripes on the fenders of a C5 (green metallic vert). See link to thread below.

It's really distressing to hear that the L5 flares are having quality issues. I ordered mine through JWM 2 years ago and my body shop guy said that there was very little prep-time and it damn near fit like a Lego piece. I hope that Lewis 5 gets their s**t wired tight pronto on quality control and makes good with customer's who have received sub-par components. It's too popular of a mod for them not to and avoid having BBB breathing down their neck.

I guess I got lucky...my L5's arrived the next day with plenty of packing material, and in good shape (IMO) yes they had those seams, but that was not a problem because it was expected. I don't know if it will help anyone in the future but for those of you that might be considering pulling the trigger on a set of L5's you might want to deal with someone who distributes for Lewis 5 Motorsports, and save yourself a couple of headaches. I got mine from West Coast Corvettes and the service was excellent 10 of 10!

Still no response from Sue at L5 regarding my splash guards...it's now the 5th time I've tried to get in touch them. Left messages and emails. Nothing.

On a positive note, further progress...prior to buffing/polishing:

Not yet...but have been sent tons of pictures showing fitment and paint matching. My guy looks like he did a fantastic job.

I'll see it in person later this week.

Does any of our supporting vendors stock "flared fronts"? I would prefer TPE over the L5 but the key to me anyway is not getting into a hassle over delivery or poor quality. A search on Google brings up a lot of bad press with Jeff Goss of TPE and I've seen the OP's worries with L5 here in this thread.

To the OP, your rear L5's look like they are coming along very well

Sue finally responded...still 10 days late. Hope the replacement splash guards are ok.

"Your replacement Splash Guards will be shipped this week - I will send them express so you can have them as quickly as possible.

Still sounds like guys are getting a better response from TPE than L5. Sucks that two of the better options (IMO) are flaky.

Makes Pete and Carbon Creations look quite favorable. Too bad I like the look of L5 and TPE better.

Anyhow, thanks Nemesis...
