Default New tinted tail light mod.

Somebody has probably already done this but it's new for me.

I had tinted my tail lights before but it was a ****** job and too dark. I wanted to do it over and let more light through somehow but still keep the black look. Have my cake and eat it too as it were.

I came up with this idea and hunted down the Chevy decals on ebay. I sanded the tail lights and cleaned them with alcohol, then installed the decals. I sprayed a couple coats of tint, then a clear coat. Let that dry for 20 minutes then removed the decals and added a few more coats of clear.

They need to dry for 24 hours then I'll wet sand them and buff.

The pics don't really do them justice, especially with the lights on.

Lights off.

Lights on.

Not for me, but it is different and as long as you're pleased, that's what matters. Pretty clever idea that you came up with to get that look.

looks nice but illegal in most states who have a state inspection program. Tail lights need to be reflective from 200 feet, with no lights turned on.

I think that I want my tail lights and brake lights about as bright as they can be.

Whatever is such a condescending cliché.. it makes me want to throw up whenever I hear someone using it as a retort ( so old and so played out ).
I also said they looked nice.. but did you thank me ? No .. There is a reason there is no state inspection in Florida. Its the government's way to get rid of all the senior citizens down there. Oh BTW ( that's a joke )
And for those who view this thread, my purpose about the state inspection was to let people know in those states, that adding this mod could be costly. State police will ticket those who have obvious inspection violations. And inspection stations with fail your car with this mod.

nice creative effect. Glad it doesn't light up and flip people off , instead of the chevy badge display.

Wouldn't fly in my state, although it would take a cop getting involved to write a fix it ticket.
