Default how to correct this trunk

My husband cleaned my black trunk with tuff stuff and it stained, now I want to do car shows, any suggestions on how I might get rid of the staining?

Have you tried any of the tire conditioners -- I'd suggest Back to Black-- or some tire dressing - - might take a couple of coats, but beats a rattle can of semi gloss . .I use the tire dressings on all the plastsic parts on my car = = underhood as well as the hatch surround . . .works just fine but I'd follow the suggestion of cleaning it again before using.

Good luck-

I would clean it first..Mild Dawn and water..
Rinse.
Dry..

Then hopefully he didn't use an abrasive applicator to clean it.
Finally I would use a tire product to enhance the black color.
But please....Test a small area first....

I wouldn't try tire dressings. That stuff is made for rubber. You might even make a bigger mess of it. There are other products made for plastic like Lexol or 303 that might work better. Test on a inconspicuous spot.
