I bought mine with the intention of upgrading it significantly.
Stock it's an OK car with great value.
Spending some money upgrading it makes it a great car with OK value.

My c5 has plenty of stock power-slow as **** you have 4dr sedans and 4bangers just as quick There is nothing quite like 500+ rwhp on demand.
The Bose system sounds great with plenty of clean bass- have you heard what a good stereo sounds like even back then as opposed to these 90's car?? I can't remember the last time I had the radio on.
The seats are very comfy- Sit in some nice recaros in a ctsv and come back Definitely will have in the future.
The headlights are bright enough.- It would be safer to tape 2 AA flashlight to the front for more output. My 91 pos beater is twice as bright I can run my brights in my C5 and nobody notices.
Both the runflats and the nonrunflats ride ok, I have had both (little difference)- never had run flats can't comment Ditto.
Cabin noise is exceptable. Its a sports car! (convertible)- I agree No complaints (except from the wife).

Sure, there are a lot of things I would like to do to mine if money were no object. However, it is amazing just the way it is for now! How much horsepower do you need for the street? Although it is a lot of fun to hit the throttle and have your head bounce off of the headrest and feel the increased G's of acceleration on occasion. I love my car and am just happy I have it. Would I like to make it even better? Without a doubt!!!!!!!!

Love my Z06!! But tires Michelin Pilot Super Sports better than the Goodyears.
I have added some things, like CAI and exhaust. Other than that stock!
Got 374 at the wheels, which is about 440-450 at the crank. Thing is a beast!
Things I would like, better seats and better Stereo. Bose speakers are fine, but the rest is way out of date. Planning on putting in a Double Din from Double D mods.

In spite of all the comments to the contrary:
My c5 has plenty of stock power
The Bose system sounds great with plenty of clean bass

The headlights are bright enough.

Cabin noise is exceptable. Its a sports car! (convertible)
You could add to this, my memory is failing, LOL I'm 75 and have had Lincoln town cars, Porsches, and 25 other cars. Fords, other than Lincoln are crap.

I'm only 62 so being just a "kid" I don't agree with alot of what you have to say.
First of all (as Tim the Tool man would say) "you can never have enough power.
The last decent thing Bose made were their 901 speakers about 30+ years ago.
The seats aren't bad I'll give you that
The headlights suck but you would have to be out later than the early bird special to know that.
The stock runflats are so hard and noisy they are like running on rounded off bricks. The greatest improvement (other than the lights, its a toss up) was when I got rid of the runflats and put on some decent tires.
The only other thing I agree with you is the cabin noise is acceptable as you point out this is a sports car not a luxury car.
I think its great at 75 you are still driving your C5 and you're obviously not afraid of new technology (you're posting in a forum). A lot of people could learn a few things from you. Thanks.
PS I also agree with you that other than Lincolns (I bought a 1 year old V8 Lincoln LS about 10 years ago) Fords are crap (but getting better in the last 5 or 6 years)

I have a Z06, but I think the seats are fine...and I don't have a problem with the stereo either. It does have an upgraded HU, but, to my knowledge it's a big deal to remove the bose control box so that wasn't changed so I don't think there's much improvement over stock if any.

Stock power? - My '03 A4 (w/273 gears) could barely break the tires loose when I bought it.
The Boze system sounded fine to my aging ears.
Headlights produced as much light as shining a flashlight through a Ball jar of ****.
The runflats were noisy and created a lot of tramling.
Cabin noise was fine (after I dumped the runflats).

The more I drive it the more I like it
It's stock except for flowmaster mufflers
Handling is very good and tires which are now conti DW's are quiet
Wind is what it is for a convertible, no biggie
For 15 yrs old it's stunning to look at
Power is very adequate for stock
Headlights are very bad, going to change that
Once I get my old bones inside it's comfortable enough
The bose is quite nice,12 disc cd changer works good

At 69 yrs old I can't hear the radio with the top off and windows down and would question why anyone would want to listen to it over the sound of the road and car at 75 to 100 mph. Almost perfect sports car as built and best bang for the buck you'll ever find. Also changed to Hankooks

The truth is Ford did get government money.
In a Jan. 30, 2009, report on the bailout program, the Congressional Research Service noted that Ford “is counting on $5 billion from the DOE loan program to support a $14 billion plan to reorient its lineup toward more fuel-efficient vehicles.” On June 23, 2009, the Department of Energy announced it would provide $5.9 billion to Ford “to transform factories across Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio to produce 13 more fuel efficient models.”
President George W. Bush stepped in Friday to keep America's auto industry afloat, announcing a $17.4 billion bailout for GM and Chrysler, with the terms of the loans requiring that the firms radically restructure and show they can become profitable soon.

Everything but the lights
Car is Perfect for me.
I changed the lights (always hated pop-ups), and Wheels (newer stock style).
I did the Sound/Thermal insulation.
Radio was long gone when I got the car, But BOSE SPEAKERS still work fine.
Happy as a bug here.

Second, If that's how you feel why are you even here?
Not a very stealthy political jab. Try P&RC.
