Recaro seats & new leather installed
I just finished putting my interior back together after installing a HUD unit, and a few upgrades while I was at it.
The seats are out of a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and are called Evo 8s. I fabricated my own brackets, but retained the Evo manual sliders. These manual seats weigh about the same as the electric stock seats, but are much sturdier and more encompassing. I had a local upholsterer recover them in Light Oak leather, and while he was at it, the door panels, too. And the A-pillars, the header trim, and the visors. I wanted to lose some of the black, so the door panels were done over a little differently than stock.

Very nice. The seats and added leather look great. Did you have to modify the seat belt retractors, or did they fit OK? Do the Evo seats recline?

Very nicely done. Are those A4's recovered?
Oops, sorry you said Recaro's, and I see now where from. Need to read before typing!

Those look extremely nice in the car. A+ job and I'm sure they make the car that much more enjoyable to drive!

That has to be the best C5 interior I've seen! Absolutely beautiful! That's the way GM should have made it
How hard was the seat install?

Thanks, all, for the encouraging words!
Not terribly difficult, actually. I used the feet from a pair of stock brackets and fabbed the frame from flat steel and aluminum. The seats need to be offset to the outside by one inch so they can fully retract. Else wise the seats would hit the tunnel.
I used C6 belts as they have no lower retractor. The tangs on the buckles were dremelled slightly to fit the Evo's receptacles. I modified the trim molding to eliminate that bulge and clear the seat back ****. The Evos do have a recline **** on the outside. With the seats slid all the way back the ***** hide nicely behind the modified trim panel. These seats do not have a back release for tilting the back forward, which isn't a problem for me.
These seats do hold me in much better than the stockers. No more knee-and-elbow-bracing going around corners!

Beautiful! (But I would have to be able to tilt forward.)
