Default How can you protect the bit of fender exposed behind the wheels???

At our Cars & Coffee yesterday one of the guys had C6 style splash guards made by Apsis that are a direct bolt on, no cutting or trimming. They certainly afford the protection, just not sure if I'm in for the look.

Has anyone tried the 3M clear bra there? Or anything else?

Thanks!

I know I've seen at least a couple of people mention using the clear bra for their fenders. I don't see why that would not work.

plastic dip works very well. All the guys at the track carry it around with them.

In that case you could probably get some flat mudflaps at Advance or Autozone and cut them to fit to a smaller size to your liking.

I have some 3M clear bra installed in that area and along the rocker panels/up onto the lower portion of the door and fender to keep the rock chips down. I also have a set of inexpensive splash guards from RPI Designs that help.

Stealth Splash guards from a forum vendor work well and are so stealthy I forget they are on there.

Here's why I'm thinking Clearbra. I ran across a youtube video where someone had installed a wrap around style mudflap. After three months he removed it for cleaning, while the fit looked tight, there was a noticeable line in the clearcoat from the flap moving.

A +1 for RPI Stealth guards would be, you would be helping out a forum vendor that has been handed a very tough challenge(fire). Not sure they are taking any orders at this time but hopefully soon! I need a set for my wife's Vert. They have been on my car for 3 months and there has been no damage caused by the guards, Another layer of protection would be to clear guard the area then install the flaps.

I have an unused set of Cleartastic for those areas that I can let someone have very cheap. Only tried one piece for a few minutes once (reusable) but never installed or drove around with any of it on. I just never drove the car around enough for it to matter.

I used 3m clear bra, behind front and rear wheels along with doing the entire rocker panel. Works great, my R compound tires love to throw little pebbles everywhere.

I like the painted look.
If I do get them I would have to cut the front ones to fit my skirts.
For me that wouldn't be very hard to make some paper patterns of the cut.
