Default New hard to find wheels!

Got me a set of pristine Mallett 396 wheels to on my Mallett Z06. when I bought the car it has a set of C6 Mallett wheels on it and so the offsets were just a little off. The C6 wheels were also 19's front and back. The only thing I loose by going to these wheels are my 345 rear tires. The 396 wheels are only 11" wide. Not sure what i'm going to do with the old wheels as far as keep them or sell them. From what I gather they are just as rare as the 396 wheels if not more rare since they are big enough for the 345 rears.

On a side note, How wide of a tire can i put in a 11" wheel without any stretching. its got 295's on it now and it looks good. I would think 315?

315 is the recommendation. Maybe push 325. Really depends on tread width more than section width of the tires.

Both sets are great looking wheels. Very sharp looking car you have - love the hood.

A 305/30/19 tire is the largest size that will fit the rear of a C5 on an 19x11 wheel without sticking out or rubbing the inner liners, provided that the correct 64-65mm offset wheels are used. Some use a 325/30/19, but will rub the inner fenders. Then they remove inner fenders & the brake ducts to try to make them fit. Or wheel spacers are used, causing the tires to stick out.

And a 315 tire is only available in a 25 profile and is only 25.2" tall. What size are your front tires, as they look tall compared to the rear?

I was lucky enough to find a set of Mallet 396's on ebay for cheap from a junkyard that thought they were OEM wheels!

I put 305/35/18's on mine and they fit perfect. People have fit 325s and even 345s on 11" wheels, but the tire starts to bulge out and looks funny.

305/35/18 rear has a pretty good variety of tires available in that size, and is the right size (26.6") for AH/TC. I got Nitto N555r's and love them.

Do your mallet wheels have mallet center caps?? Those are even more rare than the wheels!

The old wheels are 19's and the new ones are 18's. Rubbing on the inside isn't an issue as the car is mini tubbed.

They do have the Mallett center caps. The other set of wheels do as well, they just weren't on in the pics I posted!

Yeah. We were at a buddies shop and heard a loud bang. Someone ran the stop sign at the intersection just out of the picture and that's where that car ended up! Another couple feet and there would have been some damaged corvettes!

These wheels are not only next to impossible to find with centercaps but they were only made in 18"
