[Z06] Look at these Photographs

Look at these Photographs
Here is my 15k mile 50 year model I just did a fly and buy with on Monday. All stock with a couple minor exceptions. This one really moves out, noticeably stronger than my first Speedway White '01 385 HP model. It actually feels as strong as my tuned and Pfadt headered LS3 (435 RWHP) Grand Sport. I doubt it could run a quarter as fast but the way the C5Z delivers driver feedback makes it feel so quick. I just cant get enough of the raw, unrefined and unapologetic nature of the C5Z, for the money it is one of the best cars ever created.
While I'm doing show and tell, I threw a few more shots in. The '63 split is an original (down to the paint) unrestored car that a guy at my work drives pretty regular, now how cool is that..

Awesome pics and man you're right, I drove my friends c6 the other day and while its nice vette and a way more comfy ride compared to my c5 z06, but the c5 z just feels more powerful for some reason. .

Hey I appreciate this one, 5 dub! I bought some exhaust off you a while back and your Grandsport looked and sounded beautiful. So much so an officer just had to pull you over
Take care my man

Hope you are good and enjoying those headers.... if you are ever looking to get out of them I just so happen to have another C5 so I'd maybe take em back off your hands..

305/35-18 (would be a nice street tire size but no stinking offerings)
275/40-17
This car must have sat too long. I was feeling vibration and took it for balancing and found that both the left side tires were well out of round after having plenty of miles to reshape. The tires don't looked like they were ever abused other than however they may have been stored. 2010 production.
That leads to me spending half my night right here boiling it down to nitto nt05 or continental dw. please michelin, give us c5z guys the PSS...

Are you talking about those ARH headers? I remember pulling away from our meeting spot driving with the intent to let you hear the exhaust when I noticed that officer. I didn't actually get pulled over but it got my heart rate up a bit.

I remember seeing that cop and I'm happy he didn't give you a hard time. I really did like your white whip though and those Pfadt headers were the cleanest I have ever seen

What wheels in 19/18 did you have in mind that don't do one or all of the following three, as the first two don't seem like much of an "upgrade" to me.
Add weight (the very worst kind).
Narrow the car.
Cost a fortune.
The closest thing I can find are the TSW wheels which add weight, albeit not that much, but the offsets are wrong and without the use of spacers and longer studs you end up with a narrower stance, which, by principal, I will not do. Not to mention you lose .5 an inch off the front wheel.

With the GS I ran a 12.4. It was quite humbling. The car should be good for much better than that. Going back and looking at film I was spinning my tires way too much on the launch, I just wasn't realizing it as it was happening. I think my best 60' was 1.9xx (with most being 2.xx) which is where I was losing most my time. I will do better this summer.

Yep, it's half an inch narrower out back, but still better than most tires in its class in the proper size I bet you wouldn't even notice the 10mm loss of width, especially since the PSS seems to run wide to begin with

Personally, I ended up going with the Forgestar F14 in 18x9.5F|19x11R wrapped in 265/35-18F|305/30-19R. The offsets run a hair wide out back, but it's pretty much gone with a dropped car (I'll be lowering a bit more on stock bolts, so I'm not too concerned about it after examining tons of photos of other members with these wheels). The weight is right in the ballpark of the TSWs and the price isn't much higher, plus I can get more meat out back and the fronts accommodate big brakes if I end up going that route
Other than TSW and Forgestar, you're absolutely right, there isn't much out there in the way of lightweight wheels for our offsets without breaking the bank of the budget-conscious. If anybody could convince OZ to build the Ultraleggera in a C5Z-offset 18/19, that would be the way to go, IMHO.

I am just as weight conscious as you are, so I understand completely. I went through the same thing when I was trying to figure out which way to go with my setup. As you said, you have TSW with the slight issues you mentioned; that said, those with 18/19 TSW setups on C5s (including racebum, another weight-conscious member) seem very happy with their decision. Also, with the very small offset difference (7mm), there would be no rubbing on the brake ducts or inner fenders, just a slight tucking of the wheel that could easily be solved with a 5mm spacer (you won't notice the 2mm difference) which is fine on stock studs (you an always run extended-tip lugs if it makes you nervous). That still leaves the 18x9 front, so if that bothers you, it's out. I don't even notice the half-inch narrower setup on my front C6 wheels, but I also wanted at least 18x9.5" fronts, so I get it. I was actually looking at doing the 18x10.5F|19x10.5R with 5mm spacers all around when I was considering the TSW wheels.

Ya so with the TSW assuming you use spacers you still lose the 2mm in back, plus the way it maths out up front you also lose 2mm in width there as well. The collective factors of losing the half inch on the front wheel, spending extra on rear spacers and still losing 2mm per corner, picking up a couple lbs per wheel, the expense of the wheels, etc.. I just decided it was too much bs for a setup of wheels that I'm not even that wild about the looks of to begin with.
The PSS is the best street tire out there but this time I just got to try something else.
I'll look into the for Forgestars, hadn't entered my searches up to now so thanks for that.
What I would really love to see is the centennial cup wheels in stock c5z size except 18/19 and not too heavy.
