Default 04 Yellow Vette Car ideas?Need your suggestions!!!

Hello, ive had my c5 Yellow [/B][/B] vette for about a year now. Got it with 14k orig miles. I bought it as a car to drive for the price i paid for it but only putting about 4-5k miles in the year i have had it(including going to Florida from Oklahoma) i really want to do something to it.

Like i said its yellow, and its pretty bland as much as a vette can get. Im Tinting it this monday and getting everything tinted including the front windshield(with the strip at the top)

Im really looking for any ideas that i could do to my car. My budget is around 1000 dollars (Thank god for my tax return) Im not "Really" looking to spend money on anything performance wise because most everyone around where i live drives mustangs and come on guys... I Really want to add a little flash to my car. i have considered installing a cold air intake but im un easy about it. One thing that i have really considered is buying a carbon fiber hood. But that would tank up pretty much all my funds. I really think it would look good with the yellow and give it a little flash like i wanted. I have gotten a quote awhile back on a new muffler(Ie flow masters or something) and the gentleman at the shop quoted me 600 bucks. I dont know if he didnt know what he was doing or what the situation was. that seemed kinda crazy for me because what ive seen with other cars wasnt over like 70-100 bucks.(If i could get it done cheeper i might do that) just havent talked to anyone that had it done

ANY suggestions or ideas would be VERY much appreciated. I check my email on my phone pretty frequently so ill try and respond to your ideas/suggestions as soon as possible.

-Thanks Roy!

How about wheels and stripes.....If you reuse your tires you should be close to your budget doing both...A cowl hood would do wonders but would exceed your budget.

Yellow bland???? That's a first!!

Take a look at forum sponsor Vette Stripes. They have quite the number of options to fix your bland yellow ride...

My lady wants me to get some new wheels(black) but i really like my stock wheels a lot, although i have never had black rims. that's probably where i would go if i touched that. My main problem is there is they honestly look great is it with the yellow( when they are polished)

And i could see doing stripes, What do you think would look good/also with design? (im assuming black?)

And quick question, are the cowl hoods the same as carbon fiber? Sorry if they are

Stripes - We could give you 100's of opinions. You're the one that has to be happy.

Cowl Hood - It's a design, not a material.

Wheels - If you like them why change them??

Good Luck!

Millineum Yellow was my first preference when I went C5 shopping again this time. Ended up with black again (third black 'Vette), but that's okay, nothing shines like black!!

Tinting your windows will make a big difference in your car visually!! Also, look at Mastertvtech's post today with his new 'Vette Essentials interior. Totally awesome, but probably outside your stated budget.

As stated by others, stripes and wheels would work well too. 'Vette Stripes would probably be the most reasonably priced of all these options and would definitely change the exterior look that you are wanting. And, as stated above, they have lots and lots of really cool variations!!!

Good luck,
DSTURBD

You can do one big ticket item with $1,000 like is being suggested, or you can do a lot of smaller ticket items that would give you that visual splash that you might like. Examples could include:
Stainless steel exhaust "show plate"
Floor mats with C5 logo
Rear bumper "chrome" Corvette lettering
Dash "chrome" Corvette lettering above glove box
Steering wheel C5 decal
Chrome "year" plate under hood
Console cushion with extra padding & C5 logo
Ash tray statistics label
Chrome tire valve caps and chrome lug nut covers
Racemesh grills for ducts
+
+
Just another approach for spending your mod $

Based on your original post, you're looking to make changes to your bland millennium yellow exterior. Go with a set of aftermarket exhausts and fender hash stripes. That alone should be keep you within your budget.

That is exactly what I did to my Mil Yellow first and it really made a big difference!

I'd get a performance exhaust. What part of Oklahoma do you live in?

You'll spend anywhere from $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 unless you pick some up used in C5 Parts For Sale.

I really like that idea, did you install them yourself or did you have them professionally done?

A decent catback system for these cars are going to run you anywhere from $600-700 all the way up to about $1300-1400, depending on the manufacturer. They are not cheap by any means.

I would agree that perhaps some new wheels and stripes would really spice up the looks of your car. Look at the offerings from Vette Stripes and check out the wheels offered by a number of the forum vendors.

You could also see about doing some upgrades to the interior of the car - like seat skins, shift boot and ****, center console arm rest, etc.

Since you like your current rims I would suggest a front chin and rear spoiler. Side skirts would bring the whole car together.

$1000.00 isn't going to do squat. Put your money in your pocket so you'll be ready when you NEED to take care of something. Crap, have you checked the price of gas these days? You'll be the next one checking in to see if it's ok to run regular in your car. But if you insist on blowing your money I suggest a cat back exhaust.
