I get zero pop ups or redirects. That applies to my desktop which I use in the morning and the laptop I use in the afternoon. Good things happen to good people I guess.

Adblock and then download and run Malwarebytes. I have no pop ups or redirects, or really any ads for that matter.

Both of these softwares are free on the net - just google them - should get rid of all the popups , etc

Been an Adblock plus user for years. No ads, pop ups, and wipes out everything to the left of the screen which slowed everything way down. I think most of it is browser behavior. Internet explorer is bad but you can set some pop up blocking. I use chrome mostly, with Firefox as a backup.

I agree windows 8 blows

No problems here but when I signed up for Google Chrome it brought in a lot of those problems. No problems since I got rid of it.

Not sure what everyone is talking about because I have NO issues...no pops, no NOTHING
Guess I can chalk it up to good clean living, a spotless garage and great computer settings

A recent Windows update did cause stability issues for a good number of Windows 7 users. There was a problem with with one of the updated files that affected the display features and could crash the hard drive as a result of corrupted operating system files. My laptop crashed because of it and it took me 15 hours to recover my important files, repair the damage, and bring it back from the dead.

As far as the pop-ups everyone is complaining about, I haven't seen them at all, and although I use Firefox for my browser I have adblock turned off for this site. The only thing I have active is my pop-up blocker.

Thanks to MikeZLT1 and Bobd207S, I just installed both Malwarebytes and Adblock.

WOW!!!!! This computer has NEVER been this fast before!!!!!!

Just out of curiosity, one person said he has Adblock turned off for the Forum. How do you turn it off for just one site?

Thanks ever so much guys!!!!!!

P.S. Malwarebytes found over 200 issues with my computer!!!!!! AAAAGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
