I guess it was bound to happen...
I was rear-ended by an F150 pick-up today. Bent the bumper a bit on the truck. There is some superficial damage I can see plus a cracked tail light on my car.
I already know that there is going to be more damage than can be seen underneath the rear bumper cover, is there any easy way to get a look-see at the chassis underneath without removing the cover??
The nearest approved place I can take it to is a Caddy dealer. I want to make sure no shortcuts are going to take place.

Pull one of the tail lights from each side, the steel bumper will be visable but it might not reveal all the damage. Take a look from undereath the rear end for mufflers/tail pipes misaligned. A quick check of all the front door gap seems and rear hatch to body panel gaps might point out possible damage. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, and hope all the repairs work out.

Sorry to hear about the accident. You do know that you do not have to go to an "approved place" to get your car fixed, right? I would suggest finding a shop that is experienced in working with Corvettes. There should be plenty there in Florida.

Yes, but I don't know of any and being that Florida is the fraud capital of the US when it comes to cars, I'm sure there are also plenty of "fly-by-night" types out there.

Fink yourself a good shop that has experience with Vettes. A local Corvette club should be able to help you out with a recommendation or as mentioned, post up in the SE section of the forum.

Slightly off topic. VJ, I know it was just a typo but I couldn't resist. I've also been told several times in my life to go "fink yourself". Not as uncommon as you might think...

I'm sure I'll catch flack for this since there are a lot of truck owners on this forum but I despise most and this boils me. In my area a majority of car owners are really responsible but when a midsize or truck pulls up it's always 10mph over is wayy too slow, yeehaw, let me tailgate you, and get the hell out of my way. Typical.
