Rear emblem keep it or ditch it?
The previous owner of my 98 replaced the front and rear emblems with 50th anniversary 2003 emblems and added the 50th ann ones to the fenders also...Its been bugging me so I ordered new factory emblems and they came in the other day. Just pulled the back 2003 one off (in one piece with some 10lb fishing line. But I'm kinda debating on if I should put the factory correct one on or just leave it off and keep it nice and clean. Anybody else remove theirs and leave it off?

I would put the right emblem on. When shutting the hatch without the windows open, it gives a place to place your palm when pushing down to close the hatch. Besides, I just think it looks better with the emblem on the car.

I happen to like the emblems on mine. Basically, it's your call and preference. Leave it off for now. If you miss it, you can always put it back on later.

Another vote to keep the emblems. Definitely looks better with the emblems.

I'd put it back on but that's just me.

I bought my 02 Z06 in 2011 and it did not have one. I did not know it was supposed to until I asked almost a year later....I am used to it without one.....looks good either way

I say, Take it off. And thank you for bringing this up. I hate emblems. I knew that the front will leave holes and that is why I have not removed it, but I thought the rear one also had holes. Now that you say it doesn't I am going in my garage to remove it as soon as I finish typing this.

Rear emblem...ditch it. One less thing I have to worry about snagging a micro-fiber towel on. The "bare" look is much better IMO. You already have "CORVETTE" on the rear fascia, the emblem is overkill.

I totally agree and that's why I finally bit the bullet and ordered the correct ones. The first owner was a mechanic at a very well known local used corvette only dealer. My guess is that he probably did it in 2003 or 2004 trying to make his appear to be a current model car. Bugs me something horrible though cause its just not right.
You are right about a place to close the hatch. I do use that as a place to push down. Think I'm gonna get all left over tape goo off and see what i think maybe leave it off for a few days and then decide
