Default Ideas for door panel reflector please

So I have gone through my second interior door panel reflector in less than a year. THe plastic shouldn't rot that quickly. Perhaps the cam in my carvibrates the thing to the point where it snaps. Anyway, I walk into a local Chevey dealer and they wanted $55 dollars for a 55 cent piece of plastic. Forget that.

Should I glue on the old one with the broken tab or do something else in that location? Anybody have any good ideas? I guess I could find a functional one at a salvage yard. I'll be darned if I will pay $55 for that piece.

Just my luck, I have my first ever Corvette show and competition this weekend. Uggh!

I read an earlier thread where one owner replaced the plastic tabs that kept breaking with metal L-clips. Problem solved.

I recently glued all three broken tabs back on with lots of Gorilla Glue and used masking tape to hold in place while the glue hardened. I didn't think it would work, but it did.

I took a piece of 18 0r 20 gauge stainless and bent it to make a "tab" for the back and used double sided tape(3M VHB) to stick it back on the reflector....two years ago and still holding.

Great ideas guys, thank you! I think I will go with some double face tape for now.

I replaced them a couple of times then decided to fix them myself, these have been in a year.

That's a great fix. I think I am going to try a slightly less ingenious fix. Krazy Glue.

I had occasion to repair one once Randy, and I used J-B Weld. It worked well.

It is the seatbelt buckle that is breaking the tabs. After breaking a few reflectors I started to pay more attention to pointing the buckle towards the seat when I exited the car.

By banging against it? I will be aware of that.

Robert,

Thought of you when I snapped this photo. Pay attention to the signs (you may have to zoom in). This type of garbage drives me nuts. To get everyone to comply with socialism I guess they are going to start offering preferred parking spots

Shall I send a copy to of this photo to Washington DC? Ha, well if I were questioned I could say that I have a fuel efficient vehicle

I would be very tempted to back into the parking spot, bring the rpms up a tad and dump the clutch, leaving two fat black marks all the way out.

Emit this!

Seriously, how can they really get away with that? How do they define low emitting vehicles?

So if this is the way it's starting to go, it doesn't matter if you leave earlier or arrive earlier, if you don't have the right kind of car, you don't get the better/closer parking spot?

A previous employer's parking garage had electric car-specific parking but that was because they had charging stations located there. I get that, but this?!

All in the socialism master plan to control the behavior of people. Put preferred parking out and it will achieve the mind control of making more people drives Prius' which serves to achieve one goal and then another and another and then we are defenseless. They think we are stupid enough to take the cheese they set out for us.... of course, judging by the last couple elections... they're right...

Sorry about the ramble. I might have just gotten us shut down...

I would have parked there anyway, and if any gave me crap I'd tell them it gets 30mpg Hwy and is a hell of a lot more fun to drive and sexy looking than your f'ing Prius!
