Just bought my first corvette!!!
I know this is no big deal, but I've always wanted one and found that I surprisingly could afford a 2000 c5, 15.5k after taxes, title, and registration with only 59k miles! Not sure if that's a good deal or not, but it's damn worth it for this baby.
I don't race or anything so should I put mods in, anything graphical that you would recommend?

I've had mine 11 months, waited a long time to buy one.
As far as mods, drive it and learn it first. Know what you have before you start changing things. You may find you like it just the way it is!
It looks great and Congrats!!

Drifting
it's your car so do whatever you want to do with it. However, you may want to drive it for a while the way it is before you decide what mods to do. From what I've seen, many problems are caused by modifying the car.

Congrats on the new ride! I just got mine last fall and waited too long to get one. I won't ever be without a Corvette now.
Yours is sweet!
I put a new stereo in mine, that was first on the list!

No big deal?!?! It is a big deal! Not everyone has or ever will own one of the most fun sports cars on the road. Its a Corvette and you will be sharing your experiences years from now with a big grin and everyone will be envious. (Well that is my experience). Have fun, be safe, wishing you many happy miles/smiles with your gorgeous Corvette. Greetings, Rob

Hey PA00, congratulations I just got a 2000 also. I like your Red one better, Chuckle. I see the dealer plates are Redwood City. I lived in that area for many years, out in the central valley now. Palo Alto was a great town when I lived over there.
You have a batch of fun back roads over there along the coast that you will love driving the 'vette on. Out to route one and then up or down the coast--great stuff.
On the clutch in first for smooth takeoffs: Someone taught me to let the clutch out to the "friction point" where it just starts to load the engine or move the car and then give it some throttle and let out the clutch a little more etc, etc.
Mine has a 6 speed manual also and it always seems like it wants go racing when pulling away in first. Light weight, low ratio, high torque. "OK behave now, your in a residential area," I always have to say to myself. LOL.

Read the whole thread to date and I agree,,,take your time to learn about your car and how to drive it. Then don't be shy about asking for advice on mods, etc. Some will give you crap here but most of us will give you our best experienced opinions.
Congrats on a great looking Vette!
Now quick, run out to the garage and make sure it is still there!
