Cant make up my mind...sell my z06?
So the last few days I have been having the thought of maybe selling my 01 Z06. The reason being, is I just let it sit in the garage and dont really drive it much. I had plans to build it, but then found out I was having a child....so no plans to build it any time soon.
I have an old kinda junky 86 fish/ski boat that does the job, but heres the thing.
I have been thinking, I could sell the vette, sell my old boat, upgrade to a nicer boat, and use the left over money to pay off some things. This also opens a garage space for my wife to park in.
I am just afraid that I will miss having a car to play with at some point, because otherwise all I have is my truck, and my wifes 4 door rubicon jeep. Stuck on what to do.

Keep the car.... It will take a long time to get another one.. Kid gets older then comes college. Plus it would be nice to go out for drive when the wife gets cranky

If it were me I would look at the bills and how they are getting paid now. Money owed to money coming in to pay them. If Vette is paid for then the question of how much more will you use the boat than the Vette especially after your child is born? Only you can convince yourself of what is best for you. Get the Vette out more and enjoy it. Good luck with your decision.

I pretty much did that. Had kids so sold the Vette and Harley. Bought a boat and found out that kids require a much BIGGER boat. Bought a Donzi 28 ZXO new. Missed the vette... missed the vette... missed the vette...
Finally bought another vette. Found out I can't drive it anywhere because the family doesn't fit. Bought another vette so my family of 4 can go places in them.
Now I have the boat and 2 vettes. First world problems I tell ya

We were in a similar situation, when we first got married we both worked two jobs to save for a down payment on a house. A couple of years go by, we saved but one day I just had enough. I told my wife I would sell my 77 vette and that would put us over the top. She told me not to as we may never get another one. Well 35 years, over 60 cars and several corvettes later we also have a nice home so I have no regrets. It was the right thing for us at that time. Good thing too as the interest rates climbed to 18% after we bought it! You have to do what's right for you and with hard work anything's possible. God bless you and your family.

Or I can let it all stay like it is and have a vette.

I used to be one of those people that took the forever approach to cars, girls, homes, jobs, etc. Then I got older/wised up and discovered that life has a lot of amazing things to offer if you make yourself available.
If you find yourself not enjoying it as much as you used to, sell the car and focus on the more important things. And don't lose sight of the fact that there are about 25K of these C5 z06 cars running around. If you want another 1, 3, 10 yrs down the line, you can get one!
Often people struggle with changes, but it's often unjustified fear. Just do it, try it, sell it, buy it, experience it, make it happen, etc. You can change back if you want in the future.
Best of luck to you sir.

sell it, the passion is not there. let someone enjoy it.
after a long day, I walked out to a flat tire at 3am this morning, and I wasn't even mad, cuz I'm driving vette to work today. I like reasons to drive it.

If you sell it, you'll wish that you hadn't.

Man , How many times I've heard this story. A guy sells his prize car because he gets married or is starting a family. Then it takes thirty years to get it back when his obligations are done. Once you sell the car , there is always something that comes up to take your money and some guys never get their dream car back so then it just becomes a dream. Bottom line , if it is paid off do not sell it. Look at that car as it doesn't exist. The money that you will need for other things always seems to come from other sources. Trust me on this. You will agree later on.
