It is at the top of my budget and I was on the fence between a vert & a coupe...I believe I would have gone for the ragtop in this case and it has everything I wanted on a Vette, even the interior color. What do you all think---was this selling price about right for the car?

Perfect example of impatience Lesson learned... next time dont buy unless its EVERYTHING you wanted.

Dont listen to these guys either about modding your car.. if your car is stock then leave it alone!!!

It'll cost you 3-4 times as much in mods, modifying your car vs buying one already modded.

Leave your car stock bc there is still a large percentage of people that are looking for a 100% unmolested car, and it'll be worth more than a car with even a few mods like wheels, exhaust and intake.

If youre not happy with your car then sell it... buy the one that will make your heart skip a beat!

How would you have known "that" car would have come up for sale? If your luck is like mine that car would have sold for $10k more!!

Enjoy what you have or start doing your homework on the next one!

Good Luck!

There is always going to be one that you think might have been a better deal...don't let that steal the joy from your current Corvette. You should not even be looking unless you are prepared to be disappointed. We all experience something like this with everyday purchases, I suggest you forget about it and get on with life. Rob

I'm on my 7'th one. Still haven't found the perfect one yet. All Corvettes should be convertibles. It took them 10 years to build a coupe. It was an afterthought. Mainly for the ladies.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and I quess cars are like women--I've had the same one for 37 years and while there have been some nicer models with all the "bells & whistles" come along there's still something to be said for familiarity. At least you know what you got in her and what to expect out of her.

There will always be the 'one I wish I had gotten'. Don't look back and enjoy the one you got. You will love it and can make it exactly how you want it, not what someone else did. My 2 cents! Zuti

Default Everybody has a angle on this one.

That is a nice car, but when a guy says he just spent 30,000 dollars over the last 12 months? Really!
Even with a 10-12 upgrade on the engine where is the other 20K. Got to call B.S. on that one.
Anyway, if it is exactly what you want it should be considered a miss. I would not loose a wink of sleep about moving on. A lot of the fun in owning a C-5 is the enjoyment of molding it into what you deem a dream machine, it's therapeutic for most of us. You are much better off doing it your way.
There are exception's too, great buy, just what you want, set up for racing, it is all up to you. I have a lot of money in my car and know if it is put on the market I won't get what I paid into it. If I sell mine it will be to assist to get into a C-7, not because I want to get rid of it but because I have no garage space. Or not, if I can swing to keep both and maybe have a storage location she will stay. My dream? Keep the super nice C-5 torch red vert. and procure a C-7 torch red Z06. DREAM BIG!

This only applies if you plan on selling the car. Besides, even if it is modded all an owner has to do is retain the OEM parts that are upgraded, and then when it comes time to sell pull off the upgrades and replace with the OEM Parts. The upgrades can then be sold to recoup some of their cost by selling them separately.

The only other upgrades I saw were wheels, rear spoiler, and floor mats. That's not even close to 20k worth.

If you'd read the thread I responded to the supercharger was already mentioned. The only things I saw that I missed was Homelink/Onstar and a Borla/Flowmaster exhaust. Everything else on the list was OEM.

That still doesn't add up to $20k.

You should have quit looking the day you bought your car, as you will always find a better deal some where.

Those ALL CAPS in the ad writeup drives me crazy. I wouldn't have bought it for THAT reason. Other than that, pretty car. I like verts. They got top dollar for sure.

I wouldn't have paid that much for it, especially with it being an automatic.

I wouldn't buy a car with a supercharger on it already anyway. There's no telling how hard the owner beat on the engine after having it installed.

Maybe if youre only doing rims or intake.... once you get into the engine it doesnt make it worthwhile to tear it apart again. And if I were to retain all my OEM parts I have swapped out I would need another garage just for storage. No way is this a worthwhile option if the car is heavily modified... this is why very little people go this route.

Default Do not second guess your original answer

So the little ole lady from Pasadena moved to Sarasota Florida did she. Elderly lady and 600hp does not compute. Heck, 600hp mod and automatic does not compute either. Finally, 28K for a 02 w/80K miles does not add up as well. You get my drift?

Nothing lost IMOP unless those are the mods ultra high on your bucket list. Once any 02 approaches 100K it's in the low teens in my book.

Be happy with your first answer when taking a test.
