What made you choose your current C5?
For me, it was mostly the *** end, the last year of the pop-up headlights ('04), and the overall contour of the C5. Yes, there was just something about that big *** end that always caught my eye. That's why I sold my '91 C4 last year and bought my '04 coupe. The fact that it was also Torch Red, with very low mileage, was another big plus for me.

Always wanted a corvette and after selling my 3000gt a few years ago I figured it would be a good time to find one. I don't like the look of the C4 and when I drove a few they were cramped inside. I love the look of the C5 and when I test drove one at a dealership I fell in love. I didn't buy that one for a few reasons so my search continued. About a year later I got a PM from a member on here saying he had a 2000 yellow with red interior he was looking to sell. I made the arrangements to go look at it and when I did I knew it was "the one" so It came home with me back in June.
I would have gone newer but with my relatively low budget It wasn't an option. I'm more than satisfied with what I have and hope this winter wont last too much longer.

I'd wanted one since I was a teenager in the 60's. I actually ordered a '70 when I got home from Vietnam, but cancelled it because of about a 5-6 month waiting period back then.
I found my '98 at a local Chevy dealership one Sunday morning in 2000 and fell in love with it. I sent them an e-mail to see what they'd give me for my Mustang Cobra and the rest is history.
I did tell my wife that I wasn't going to do a thing to it, but I had my fingers crossed at the time.

I actually started looking for a C4, for budget reasons, but then realized entry and exit was difficult with my screwed up knee and hip. So I upped the budget and began looking at C5's. When I saw my present car, I knew it was THE one. Pewter metallic, light oak interior, auto., 3.15 gears, Z51 suspension, sport seats, both tops. It was exactly the way I would have ordered it. I bought it that day.

Styling , Styling, Styling , Styling , Styling , and did I mention that I loved the way it looked ? Like a real Corvette , unlike what I've seen since.

Always wanted one but the responsibilities of life intervened. Got to a point where I could justify the expenditure and stumbled into a great deal........

Price, Never bought a new car before and it was the last C5 on the lot at the dealership. They wanted it gone as the C6's were arriving the next day. 160k miles later absolutely the best DD I have ever had.
