Finally bought a C5!!
Howdy folks – I bought WICKEDFRC’s wicked FRC last week –
Called him up Friday 24th, we chatted a bit, discussed a few details, I flew out Wed 29th. WICKEDFRC met me at the airport, had an awesome welcome and drive back to his house where he did not show me the car; he presented it. Transaction was smooth as could be, aside from the fact I bone-headedly let my driver’s license expire some months ago! Luckily I had my passport along too, so all was good. WICKEDFRC even bought me lunch and escorted me out of town – he got to see his car one last time on the road and wave goodbye. He presented me with garage posters and a car show sign for it as well, even a couple water bottles & such for the road - 1,000 miles home!.
I did not buy his car - I’ve adopted his baby . The vehicle was absolutely as described; and I’m gonna tell you, it does look better in person than the pics. I was a bit hesitant myself about the pictures, but in person this thing has a presence which is difficult to describe. It got waves & honks from truckers, thumbs-up from cops, waves from other Vette owners, rubbernecks from road workers, smiles from schoolkids & compliments from a gas station crack momma.
The car is in great condition – not perfect, it has a few minor faults, but it has obviously been meticulously cared for and was beautifully detailed when I bought it. WICKEDFRC was very up-front about the faults. The car ran without missing a beat all the way home, and got 28.4mpg!! At an average of around 85ish or so.
So I’ve joined the Brotherhood Thanks for welcoming me WICKEDFRC in such a memorable manner. Looking forward to spending some time on the forums and maybes seeing some of ya’ll – I’m in a suburb of Dallas and the car is going to see the occasional Cars n Coffee and action at Eagles Canyon Raceway.

And a BIG WELCOME to the Corvette brotherhood. I love you new ride and it is small wonder you get all that attention it is exceptional. What a excellent buying experience you had,(had to re-read it a few times) thanks for sharing, fantastic. You would get a big wave and smile from me if I seen that Corvette. Lucky guy. Here is wishing you many happy miles/smiles with your new baby. Greetings, Rob
