Default LS6 Intake ?

GM does not offer the LS6 intake any longer that came on the 2001 to 2004 corvettes. Does anyone know the spec on it. 80mm 85mm. Do any vendor sell a after market LS6 with the same spec as the stock intake? Thanks Hams

Browse ebay there's tons available on there, sometimes the classified section here on the forums has one up for offer

Thanks I am looking, some of the ones that I have seen on E-bay look like crap. Just concerned that if I get it from e-bay something may be wrong with it.

Are you talking the intake manifold? If so, I don't know what could be wrong with it other than if someone dropped it. If it looks like hell, you could get a good deal on it. Spend a few hours cleaning/repainting and it will look as good as new.

I bought mine here years ago. They come up often. Try a WTB post in the for sale section.

I believe that 2000 and later they used the same manifold on the ls1 and the ls6. Guess that is where the extra 5 no came from....

01+ LS1 intakes are LS6 Style. 1997-00 were the older ones. make sure you find one for a Vette, other cars have EGR's were as the Vette does NOT.

Also From what i understand is the LS1/LS6 intakes use a 75mm (some say 78mm) TB's and 85mm MAF.. If that helps. Probably looking PEAK for 8-10HP, little more maybe with a tune. but what i read is that most feel the MID range increase as well as top end increase. Better PCV system as well.

MAF is a 5wire rather then a 3 wire (Includes Temp sensor)... 6.0L Truck MAF basically.

I am doing a cam upgrade and wanted to replace by intake with an LS6.
If I go with a fast intake then I have to replace the TB and injectors. I am being told that adding a fast intake over the LS6 will not increased the HP power just give me more torque. Hams

You still can keep your existing injectors with a fast intake upgrade, but you can't get around the fact that you will have to purchase a matching throttle body for the fast. Fast intake does produce both more torque and horsepower than the ls6 but only in the upper rpms. The ls6 will kick the fast intakes butt in torque in the lower rpms. If you plan on cruising your vette and not into redlining it all the time to feel the power gains, a fast intake is not justified for you in cost. Like I said, if I ran out of mods to do and needed every last bit of power then I would have got my fast intake. Dollar per hp ratio throttle body and tb adapter harness. I ditched my ls6 intake when I got the whole fast combo for a trade and 100 bux on top.
