Default Anyone in scottsdale az willing to assist me in repairs?!

Hey All,

I recently just purchased my 1998 Corvette and am looking for someone who can honestly help me with some things on the Corvette. I am not mechanically saavy, but DO NOT want to go to a the dealership on my vette, as I believe some of you out there can do a much better job.

It seems a little wierd asking this, but wanted to know if anyone out there in the Phx area was willing or able to work on my car for a fee of course. Or if you know of any reliable shops with Vette experience who can charge a very fair rate.

Things that need to be done:
Changing Spark Plugs, (im averaging 14 mpg on DIC)
Transmission Drain and Replace Fluids
Air Condition (not operable/Compressor not engaging/zero freon in there)
Passenger Side Headlight Motor Replace(only the brass washer with the teeth needs to be replaced not the motor)--I have done research on this, looks pretty simple and I can do this one but would love supervision if doing other work on the car!

FYI I AM ALL FOR LEARNING HOW TO DO THIS WORK AS WELL BUT HAVE NO REAL EXPERIENCE UNDER THE HOOD. I have a feeling that many may decide to give their two cents on this request...but I would appreciate just the responses to answer my questions!

Do you already have the plugs and brass gears? I'd be happy to help with both. Easy job.

I can help out too, actually just did all the fluids in the car last weekend. Not sure if I could help out with the AC issues though.

Yeah, couple of clowns up here ^^^^^ Never heard of them. If they ask for pictures of you dressed like Little Bo Peep, beware........

What part of Scottsdale are you located? Come over to ACE, I go by TheCMSH over there. That tranny flush/drain I think you really need to take to a shop with the right machine to actually exchange as much of the fluid as you can and have someone that really knows how to fill it to the proper level. The other stuff is pretty straight forward, though #7 spark plug will make you curse until you get the right assortment of extensions and universal couplers

We can get you lined out

Tranny fluid and rear fluid swap is easy. No reason to take it to a shop for that.

This sounds fun. Im down to lend a hand. I just bought my 2004 C5 about 3 months ago, might be fun to hang out with some locals. This Saturday would be good. Maybe I can bring my exhaust and throw that on too, lol.

if you're only getting 14mpg there are 3 things that come to mind. the plugs are only one of them, the other two are your fuel filter and front o2 sensors. all of this stuff is very simple to replace for a novice mechanic

you will also need new wires if yours are still oem, the chances of them coming apart when removed is high at that age

Thanks! My internet is down. Century link is an amazing company....

This has been awesome pour of help guys. I just ordered last night new plugs and wires and already have a fuel filter as well. Leaving the 02 sensors as the last thing to replace if this doesn't help....been entertaining sea foam but I really don't want to...that'll be last case scenario...

Ace is AZ corvette enthusiasts? What does thecmsh mean?

Love some help! Especially if someone had dealt with a tranny drain and replace.

Question: is there a transmission filter that I can replace as well when doing the tranny drain? Anyone know part number if so?!

I hear that the tranny fluid is difficult due to getting the fill amount correct. Have you done it before? Any tips?
