Default Glue for headlight cover?

Something is loose forward on my coupe, fast approaching 100,000 miles.
So I popped the hood to see if there was anything obvious there. The right painted headlight cover has broken where the top or rear 2 torx bolts attach it to the frame. The break can't be seen unless you have the hood open, and the 2 pieces fit nicely together. I'm thinking clean the two surfaces in place, mix up some 5 minute epoxy, apply carefully, and then use masking tape to hold it down while it cures. Then go back with a bit of touch up paint, and I'm done. Make sense, or should I go to a body supply store and get the 3M product?

Best,

Bluemill

I used epoxy several years ago and it has held up. Rhino glue may also work well.

I would guess your method would work, but the surround isn't that expensive - why not just buy a new set or get some used ones from a place like VetteNuts.

Default Not the surround- it's the lid...

I'm saying that the broken piece is the painted exterior headlight top piece, not the surround. Just to paint it and match it well would cost lots of $$. Not to mention the part itself!

Are the covers made out of PVC. If so, PVC glue would bond them together. I know some that have repaired pieces on their goldwing motorcycles with it.

You can get a used one for around $90 and have it painted to match for about $75 as long as you do the R&R.

The threads sticking out on mine tell me that they're fiberglass.
