Are your tires old, are you using some crap brand/compound?
When's the differential been last serviced?
When was your last alignment?
Otherwise, yeah it's got enough torque to do that.

I have a 2:73 with Hankooks. Even when the tires were new any bit of slightly aggressive acceleration would cause wheel spin in hot dry weather. At the drag strip though I could floor it from the stop and get NO spin which shocked the crap out of me.
Are you talking about on the street or strip?

Obviously the OP has little performance car experience. Even my '95 M3 with 100 less HP if I'm crawling in 1st, punch it and it will light up the tires. (255 rears) 223k on it and its still fun as hell. The Corvette just raises the bar...

Check your sway bar end links. If yours are orginal they are plastic and need to be replaced. Later model C5 and all C6 are metal and any will fit
