Default Some New Appearance Mods to Freshen Up My C5

Hey guys. After forging the LS3 and installing the Vortech, I figured the car needed a little more flash to go with the added power. Went with a body kit from our forum vendor Corvette Creationz, front carbon C5R lip, carbon side skirts and carbon flared fenders. I also came up on a used RK Sport rear fascia that I felt complimented the other pieces. Then to finish it off I went with light forged TSW Nurburgring wheels, 18x10.5 all around, and C6Z06 brakes. Let me know what you guys think.

Before pics...

New look...

Getting tuned on the dyno

Doesnt take much to light them up lol

Also got a Circle D triple disk converter and DRM oil cooler kit on the way. Got plans for a bigger intercooler from A&A. Man, the list never ends. Lol

Your car looks great with the new mods installed. Only thing I personally do not care for is the two attachment rods on the front spoiler but I'm sure they are there for added stability and strength for the spoiler.

Thanks and yeah I know about the support rods but they are functional and add bracing that the lip needs at high speeds. I may paint them black or look for carbon fiber ones.

Looks great! I agree on the suppport rods...in your first "new look" pic, the front looks so much better/cleaner w/o the rods (carbon fiber or not)... but function over form makes sense here. Where are you running your exhaust out? Is it just pointing straight down before the rear fascia?

Thanks Matt. The best power pull at the end of the day showed 600/520 but it was pulling timing after a few hours of tuning. Also the wheels were spinning on the dyno and i had to sit in the trunk. Lol. Have a triple disk converter from Circle D on the way that will allow me to lock it up at wot and see another 20rwhp or so. I'll be back on the dyno for tuning when I install it.

Thanks! I do hpde and top speed run events so i didnt want it stressing and either cracking or breaking at speeds well past 150mph. The rods help keep the nose down. As for the exhaust, I have turndowns that dump after the x pipe right by the rear wheels. I incorporated a pair of bullet mufflers into the x pipe.

Mods look great. I'm an old fart trying to get over my partiality to chrome wheels but just can't go all the way to black. The color of the TSW's you chose is excellent and really set off the black car!

Your car looks great man I just installed that same lip on mine. I too am worried about it holding up at high speed. I used 10 bolts with lock-nuts and some self taping screws as well. I noticed u removed the wheel well party of the lip. Any reason for that other than maybe looks? I had about 1/2 inch clearance between that part and the tire when I turn the wheel. How was the fit on the side skirts? I plan on getting those soon too.

I cut the wheel well wings because I run a 295 tire up front and it would hit. I talked to Pete from Corvette creationz and he may design one with thinner wings there to clear wide tires. The side skirts went on really easy with a great fit. I held them in with double sided tape and then used plenty of self tappers. I consider these permanent mods so I wasn't scared to drill and make holes.

Diggin the car!

Can you get more pics of the carbon fiber fenders? Im considering them for my black c5 as well and trying to get more ideas what they would look like unpainted.

Heres some of when we were assembling the car. It really looks different in person because the light seems to change the color of the cf in pictures.

I think the car looks great, I like the addition of the support rods personally, the only thing I might would change, and that's just me, is with the black car I'd remove the badges, but that's just my own opinion, I have badges on my car as well, but something about black to me less looks better.
I have the same rims and brakes as well and they are a definite improvement in both looks and performance.
Nice job.
