c7 seats in a c5?
does anyone know if the seats from a c7 fit in a c5 vert?
if so, are any modifications needed, and what is the cost and who is doing it?
looking forward to your responses.

Any time I've ever bought a new vehicle and try to buy something from the dealers in the first year or so , they always say they don't have parts for them yet , so I doubt that seats would be available for a long time through a dealer. Probably have to wait until someone wrecks one.

I seem to recall someone measuring them and saying they are too wide to fit in a C5. I could be wrong though.

I would be wiling to make them fit. I will be bitching about seats for at least a year at this rate.

If those don't end up working with the C5 i'll be going with some Cobra Misano's. Such a bad *** looking seat!

I'm sure it will be a while, but it will be interesting to see who tries the C7 seats in a C5 and what it takes to make them fit and work properly.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Right now, even if you could get them I'm sure the cost would be pretty high.

I'll be putting Evo9 Recaros in mine within the next week or two (ideally, this weekend, but what ever goes according to plan when you mod your car )
The C7 seats are both wider and heavier than the C5 and C6 seats
Google C7 vs C6 seats and you'll see a comparison; GM gave one of the mags one of each cut in half to compare

Both the c5 and c6 seats start to rock, wiggle over time. My guess is the c7 is more heavy, sturdy so it does not rock. Bottom line.... I hope GM fixed the seat rock issues after over 15 years....

The biggest barrier for any seat to overcome in a C5 is width. Barring extensive fab work, most seats cannot be used in the C5 due to this fact.
As far as the C6 seats, I put them in my C5 for several years and no rock and no wiggle. One thing I really appreciate the most about them is the fact that they do not have the mountain of relays controlling everything underneath. Other than modifying the seat's electrical connector to be compatible with the C5's connector, removing the seat belt pre-tensioner and cutting off a threaded stud on the side of the seat frame, they drop right in.
They're not Recaros, but they're better than the C5 seats.
Btw, the seats are not made by "GM". They're made by Lear.
