How will an X pipe change the exhaust tone?

A x-pipe will get rid of that motor boat sound that C5's are notorious for because of the .25" inlet of the h-pipe (not a true 2.5 "H"). It actually is known to kind of quiet the exhaust in a weird way, like smooth it out to where it "appears" quieter. I think x-pipes sound much better than H's on LS cars. Don't expect a power gain with it, but for sound reasons I'd go with one!

When I had an X-pipe on my '00 with a set of B&B Route 66 mufflers, it seemed to make the exhaust note deeper, but more importantly it got ride of 95%+ of the resonance and popping that was happening. Well worth the cost IMO.

I am really split on the Xpipe . I am not a fan of the motorboat sound at idle, but one of the things I love the best about my Corsas is exactly the popping of the exhaust when I lift off. I even stop my radio around town, just to hear that pop.

My did smooth down but I still have a little popping on decel. It pops one or two time instead of popping the whole time. I have bbk shortys, corsa x, granatelli catback

The reason for the change in the exhaust characteristic and the popping is because a well scavenged exhaust will Pull exhaust gasses evenly from both banks of the motor. It will suck out the exhaust pulses by a higher volume with much less chance for un burnt fuel to be ignited on decel. This even " sucking " makes for a smoother running engine with less exhaust build up.
