66 now, and enjoying a vette for the first time. Couldn't afford/justify it until now. I am having an absolute blast with it. Who cares what others think?

65 here, 4th Vette. (30 year pause without due to 'Life'). Nobody says 'midlife' whatever to me... They just KNOW I'm still a kid... Otherwise, it's None of their business.
My bills are paid, my life is in order, screw 'em...
This is FOR ME!!!!

I'LL be 76 in January, and just got my c5 convertible this past May.
Mid life crisis, if I ever had one, had to have been when I was in my thirties.

As long as I can get in and out of the Vette without physical problems, and as long as I can still jack it up and get under it to do some work, which I might add, I do with relative ease for an old fart, I will continue to enjoy my car.

The day may come when I can no longer enjoy these things , but till that time happens, it's live for the moment and enjoy every minute I am behind the wheel, because my Vette is the culmination of a life long dream of owning one of these beauties.

Bob.

Mid life crisis:
Term given by timid or jealous people who secretly wish they could do what you're doing. They have given up their try at happiness for a safe and easy bland life devoid of challenges.
Term also given by the significant other who is afraid of the change they see in their partner and would rather keep the status quo.

Yes you are much to old for a Corvette! Listen to your wife sir, She is much smarter than you will ever hope to be as you are now senile and can not be trusted to make a decision like this!
Good Lord, please grow up and maybe look around for a nice motorized scooter of some kind. If you don't need it now you will soon.
Have as nice a day as you can!

My question is am I going through a mid life crises?
I've owned my C-5 for 11 years now (I'm 58) and back in 76 I had a 74 for about 6 years until life kicked in the I had to sell it to get something a bit more practical. I went without a Vette for sometime until the kids grew up. I knew that one day I was going to get another because "once a Vette owner, always a Vette owner", right?
Anyway I need some support from you guys. Should I keep her or is it time to sell?
Got my first Vette at the ripe young age of 66. Age is just a number.

Not sure what too old means. I'm on my fourth Vette, 2001 Coupe. Had a 66 when I was 24, then a 71 when I was 26. Got a 93 when I was 56 and my 2001 at 58.

Love my 2001 Coupe and also have a 2002 Lightning and 2003 Thunderbird. I will have a Vette until I die or can't drive.

When anyone mentions the "midlife crisis" stuff to me, I would always tell them to explain that, as it's my 5th corvette.
I'm 71 now and just bought this Z06 for my 6th one and I hope to have another midlife crisis before I finally go. Still pumping air and loving life. We now own 2 Corvette's too.

I had a 73 yrs ago and after I retired I got the bug again so I had the money and I bought an 01 at age 63 and enjoy it very much. We don't have any children so if I don't use my money for something I want, someone else will when I am gone. Can't take it with you, never saw a trailor hitch on a hurst.

Some say we get smarter with age. I think we just run out of stupid things to do????
haha,I rode cycles for 25 years before i stopped and bought my 1st vette
Had some bad discs in my neck and the pull of excelleration from the handlebars aggrivated the cond.Even after a fusion, took the fun out of the ride.Corvette seemed like a good alternative. No regrets,My cuz lets me take out his harley when I get the itch anyhow.Besides I do have to admit, unless I am doing something really stupid in the vette, its the much safer alternative.Enjoy life its not gonna last forever

It's your life and you're the only one who can live it. You shouldn't let someone talk you out of owning something you've worked for.
