C5 or C6 ; which is more comfortable
I plan to post in C6 also, but, I'm just curious to know : Is the C6 more comfortable to ride in for long trips, or is there no noticeable difference
between a C5 or a C6 ?
thank you!

Depends on what you call comfortable....
After a 7 hour trip in my C4 I had no complaints, same with my C5. Both are comfortable to sit in for a long time (took the C5 for a 5,000 mile road trip 3 years ago in 14 days never a problem).
Ride comfort is way better in a C5 than my old C4 and I believe a C6 is even nicer riding than a C5. Only sat in a C6 for about an hour, so never really had a chance to scope it out.

I would be more comfortable in a C6 because when I got my C5 I had a ton of money left over causing a bulge in my wallet which is in my back pocket and I sit on it. If I got the C6 the wallet would be thinner, thus more comfortable!

I have both a C5 & a C6 and I find the comfort about equal. The C6 is a little better but it has the F55 suspension and the C5 has the base suspension. When the C6 is on touring it is much better but I have ridden in other C6's and they are about the same as the C5. In any case I've had 2 C4's before this and both the C5 & C6 are better. I have driven long drives to the NCM in all the above and would rate the C6 with the F55 the best and the C5 with the base second. My '92 with base suspension was better than my '87 with Z51 which was harsh.

The major difference to me is the seats. The C5 sport seats are nice, but the base C6 seats fit proper.

C6 seats are much more comfortable, but the C5 has more leg room - which was a must for me (6'3"). So....I put C6 seats in my C5Z - best of both worlds

I have both - a C5 vert with Z51 and a '13 427 vert which comes with MSRC.
The seats in the C6 are better. However, the C5 is a better road trip car in nearly all other respects, including ride, gas mileage, leg room, and ease of handling. You have to get rid of those run flats though. After I put the Hankooks on the C5, the noise levels and handling were excellent. For a road trip a NAV system would be a nice upgrade in the C5.

That's a question that really only you can answer for yourself. Everyone is built different and the cars will feel different to each person. Best bet is to just go and test drive a few of each and see which one you like the best.

I guess I'm the odd-ball here, when shopping I chose the C5 over the C6... one of the main reasons was I felt the sport seats and "build" of the interior was nicer in the C5, and roomier. The C6 seemed even more plasticky and cheap to me?!? That was about 50% of my decision.
My neighbor has a C6 and he thinks the C5 has nicer seats, but he has the base seats. It's subjective, because I know people that like the C6 interior more, can't really go wrong either way, IMHO.

I drove both before buying. I didn't notice any difference during my limited test drives. My C5 has sport seats and F55. I've taken 3 road trips in the past 2 years and couldn't be more pleased.
