2018 C5 of Year Winner
You may find a floor jack and four jack stands for less than the $200 56" Race Ramps, but, I doubt if the jack and stands would qualify for a "good" rating by most folks on the CF forum. I also doubt if an inexpensive floor jack will last forever. A year would be a closer estimate of the service life.
A good American or European floor jack will actually cost more than most Race Ramps.

6 years no problem.

That's ok... you might not see it. She's about twice your age now (not sure- probably 35-40 yrs old) and has 4 kids. But as soon as I saw your pic, I thought you looked just like she would have at 20 yrs old. Also, it was intended as a compliment. No problem... Let us see those pics asap.

Changing all of the fluids would be a good idea. Go with a good synthetic.
Don't know what the tires look like, but tires make a HUGE difference in how these cars ride and handle. Michelin Super Sports are the best in non run flats.
Since you state you have never owned a Vette before, be careful of how low the front end is. Very easy to scrb the front end. Drive very slow over those dips and rises in driveways and stores. Also watch those parking areas with curbs. Can really mess up the nose of the car and the air dams.
Try to keep the car out of inclimate weather. Grounding straps on these cars can get corroded and you will see lots of electronic gremlins when this occurs. If you do not have a garage to park it in, I would suggest getting a good car cover.
Check the DIC codes and make sure there are no current codes being thrown. Listed below is a good site if you have current codes being thrown to dianose them.

Other than these notations, not much to comment on. The Vettes have lots of torque and power, so you may be surprised at the acceleration.
The drive trains are reliable, and most of the issues are with electronics. If you can find all of the ground traps, not a bad idea to clean them.
Best of luck and enjoy that Vette, Cutie!

Do not take your car to a dealer for the column lock recall. It is well documented here and on other forums that the GM fix does not work and will cause other problems. Purchase a column lock simulator kit from one of the forum vendors and install it.
Here are some helpful links.

Callaway seems to be # 2, but I am sure you are going to hear different opinions.
Here is a good discussion on this forum.

Congrats on the '98! We love ours and seems to get played with more than anything else in the garage at the moment. Ours was stock as well with 44k on it , I added Corsa axle back exhaust and a 2002 Z06 air cleaner assembly and I can get into plenty of trouble with that so not adding anymore. Good Luck and looking forward to some pictures.
