Congrats on your C5 and welcome.
Sounds like you have the standard base seats and not the sport seats.
These cars are very low and there are specific jacking points. The body wraps under the car over the frame so you have to be careful where you pace the jack and if you lift from the frame you must use jacking pucks unless the car has frame rail protection installed.

Here are the C5, C6 and most likely C7 lifting & jacking locations:

Have fun. And don't forget to post some pictures.

Those were my two first C5 mods.

Also look into Race Ramps for getting the car off the ground instead of jacking.

Yes. http://www.raceramps.com/

But you have to raise the rear of the car to drain the oil. Make sure to chock both front wheels before raising

Congrats on the new to you vette,. Mine is a '98 as well and I love it. First thing I had to do to mine was change the oil sending unit and fix a vacuum line under the battery for the climate control because it leaked and melted it. The accessory drive belt isn't that hard to change but the A/C belt can be a little bit of a pain. You also have the standard seats in yours. That is the reason for no corvette wording on it. I had those as well but changed them to look like the sport seats since my covers were worn out, so it has the word on them now. Sounds like you got a good deal on it as well.

I recently purchased a 2001 with 55,000 miles. It sure seemed to get better the more I drove it. I think they like being driven more than stored. Lots of great info here and you'll get lots of help. Look forward to the car pics.

Very fitting username, enjoy the car and site!

You can save some money if you get the ramps from Reverse Logic. Mention this post and I will throw in a jacking puck.
