Were you at a show? Sometimes they do it just because they can.

I was at a mixed show and someone peeled off my double TT stainless steel rear letters. I know they didn't fall off as I detailed the car upon arrival and they were there. If they had simply fallen off, they would have been lying on the ground by the car.

They steal them off big truck because they have the core removal type. Then you get a fix it ticket at the scales as caps are required. It's worse if you park your truck t home.

Default Do the caps that claim to lock stick around longer?

2 weeks ago, I was at a show and noticed my back caps were gone. Will order another set but do the sets that are advertised as locking actually lock?

^^ I have a set of custom chrome Corvette valve stem caps made by Logo Caps that have a theft deterent feature. They will just spin without the special removal tool.

Thanks STL94LT1,

I won't spend the extra cash for them if they don't work.

It's funny you mention that, I NEVER take my 2003 to Corvettes@carlisle I usually park on the grass in the park just down the street from the fair grounds. I read in the NCRS that a guy had taken his 1957 or whatever to a show and he had a pretty rare emblem on his car, when he went back to his Corvette, sure enough the emblem was gone. I have the two 50TH. emblem on my front fenders and I'd be really pizz&d off if I came back to find someone with a hunk of fishing line had pocketed my emblem. You go the auction site and you can find them all the time, and they not 'New' so it ain't no mystery where they came from, some poor soul most likely stopped for his morning coffee to find out his emblem's have left the building ???????

Not sure about that one. Not only am I not running run-flats, but now I'd need a special tool to add air?

I'm probably as **** as the rest of you about this subject but if you drop by Discount Tire (just about everywhere I think), they'll give you chrome plastic caps (no Corvette logo of course) and they look terrific for zero cost. Most people don't even notice the small Corvette logos but if that's your thing, then get the ones that can't be stolen easily. For me, I'll just take the freebies.

They also have the exact same plastic chrome caps at WallyWorld for like $2 a set. Maybe it was $3. Look where they have the tire repair stuff for sale.

Actually I can attest that it has been longer than that. I hung out with a pretty rough crowd back in elementary school.
