Have You Ever Regretted a Mod?
I know a guy who was like many Corvette owners - he wanted to get as much power as possible out of his C5.
He got his wish - I don't know the numbers but he created one fast MF.
I asked him how he likes it and he said he doesn't. When asked why, he said it was too powerful. He was actually afraid to drive his own car.
In his mad attempts to make a screaming hauler, he didn't consider that he might create a car that would become more than he cared (or dared) to handle.
Have you made a mod or a series of mods you have come to regret?

Yes, purchasing a Wind Restrictor, coulda used the money for something that actually works. I've had people say it looks cool though. They need to rename it, maybe something like, 'Cool Looking Plastic Thingy'.

No seriously.....too much power? I haven't got there yet.
Edited, but I do see the point if he didn't know his goal, i.e. street use or track use and he made it useless and uncomfortable for DD use.

Regret mods?????????All the time. I put them on thinking its a good
idea and after the fact my friends wise me up. Then I take them off.
Nothing wrong with admitting a mistake............

Yes. Bought a set of wheels and turned out to be a nightmare dealing with the manufacturer on fitment issues.

Put in racing seats, not sure I like them.
I think I just need to fab up some better brackets for them. I like the seats, but getting in/out of the car is MUCH harder than with the stockers, and I have to tell fat people that they won't fit in the car

Tick Performance clutch master cylinder and an exhaust choice
There were 2 mod's I did that I totally regretted:
1) Tick Performance clutch master cylinder.
The first third of the pedal excursion was close to stock, the remaining two thirds required tons of pressure. The grab point was horrifically instantaneous. A great unit for the track but not streetable in my opinion. Got rid of it after a mere 100 miles and sold it at a tremendous discount here on the forum. Went with stock unit.
2) Borla Stingers
Okay... I'm not trying to start another exhaust debate. I thought the Borlas sounded great. But the freeway drone was too much. I thought they would grow on me but after 3 months, I was more than ready to get rid of them. Also sold them here on the forum. Went with Corsa Pace Cars.

Lots of mods I regretted.
Some lighting mods. ALL modifications I made to the exhaust (LS7 Manifolds to LG Streets). The first tune I put on the car was drek.
I'm pretty neutral on the RSD Snap Shifter. It was a good shifter, but just like some others I know that had it, it lost its calibration after about a year. (Could have been caused by a bad install.)
I also regret tail light and reverse light LEDs. Honestly, I don't think anyone manufacturers good quality LED products for aftermarket stuff. I know a bit about LEDs and I can tell you that a proper LED setup isn't really a "bolt-in" situation with C5s.
There's only a few mods I did to my car that I think were great choices:
The Vararam, the Sun Guns with 55w HIDs and the combination of the Parrot MKi9000 and AUX2CAR.
At the end of the day, a stock C5 would have made me happier. Stock stuff is more reliable and predictable.

I continued down the more power road
Now I don't like the wife to drive it because it is a hand full to drive, I love the power but it is more like a race car than a street car now.
Should have thought it out better and had a real plan vice being blinded by the HP. I regret that I had to then buy her a car so she can drive something else.

This one is pretty minor...I bought a flush mount kit for the tail lights. Put it on one light and immediatly pulled it back off. Looked cheap, and the lights moved around too much. I also bought a set of hash marks I havnt made up my mind on yet. At least those are both cheap and easily reversable.
