I need to replace the run-flats on my C5, any suggestions?

Bought my car this spring and replaced the tires ASAP. I went with non run flats, Hankook Ventus V12. About $600 and the car rides so much better!

Traded in my run-flats for a AAA card and Michelin Pilot Sports and never looked back.

My suggestion would depend on how you will primarily be using your car.

If you plan some trips, where you will be in unfamiliar territory, I would consider putting run flats back on it. I went with the Michelin AS ZP run flats and have been pleased with them. They are a lot quieter than the old Goodyears that were on there. They do howl to beat hell on some road surfaces but fortunately those are few and far between in my travels.

If you want to stick with runflats, go with the Michelins. For non-runflats, I would highly recommend the Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs. I'm running them on my car and they are great and for around $650 (or less with any rebates), they are hard to beat.

Kumho still makes a run-flat in C-5 sizes, as far as I know. I thought that some people here liked them. Have they dropped out of favor?

Get the best of both worlds, Michelin Pilot sports ZP.
Costly, but peace of mind, and quiet running.

FWIW, I've had the Michelins on my car for the last 7-8 years. They're not THAT quiet.....

i've enjoyed my Invos for the past couple years but will get something a little taller & stickier next time just because when i do take it out, i drive kinda hard through the mountains & am putting down mid 500s.

even then, they still do great - especially on highway trips. cruised 80mph in rain & felt solid as a rock (on FL roads anyway). they wear great & are MUCH quieter than the run-craps

Another vote for the Michelin A/S ZP, esp. if you're going to run in cold weather. I've had the A/S and PS2 ZPs, the PS2s are great in warm dry weather but not so good for winter roads. Great choice of avatars.

Another vote for the Michy Pilot Sport AS ZP's if you stick with run flats, I had them on my car when I bought it, transferred them to my daily driver (they were brand new), and there they are still today. (BTW, I went to Michy Super Sports, and man, what a difference in handling, and road noise)

I have Kumho's as well, no complaints. I picked up one of those flat repair kits at Wally World for about $30 with the little compressor that plugs into the lighter, just in case. (I hope I never need it)

funny you say that - 2 two weeks after switching to non-runflats, i picked up a screw. thank God i still had a stock wheel/tire at home & a friend with a jack
