Default ~*~Rears completed. FinishedOff Fronts & Sides LEDS~*~

Figured might as well be done with this LED upgrade, not that it was a major deal (about $90bulbs & harness & $52 corner front markers on sleezebay) I kinda liked those modified rears so much after going round and round with my friend sweet Sonia that I could do this job myself she suggested it best to take it somewhere with a lift as I had a difficult time with her last time with this same issue As a result I decided might as well take it in to Juans and be done with it.

We have to 1st go through the entire ordeal of 2x4s to be able to get the car on the hoist These corner lights are kinda tired after the 12 years, 36k they have been on the car and the new ones are so much nicer cleaner looking

You can easily see how the old lights damaged the plastic, it was even cracket on the other side of the fixture itself from the bulb heat

So these looked pretty good & for sure much brighter. Fairly simple install if you have a lift, with the car being as low as it is, I would have had to exert myself on the ground trying to get this done on my own. Not to mention the rear side markers where a bastard of a tight squeeze to replace the bulb too. Rear two LED lic plate bulbs were no sweat.

While the car was up I asked Juan to trim a .5" off the side lower front rubber. Still scrapping around although not as bad, I might do another quarter on the side but certainly no the center one as I know the C5s are bottom breathers

When it was all said and done, while still on the hoist I polished my CCWs and asked Juan what I owed him, $50 was the labor, I gave him a $20 gratuity and thanked him for a job well done. As I left, I called Sonya I told her I just had to phone ya She was excited for me and my new upgrade and was anxious to get together and see them, I told her I'd see her soon. Can you blame me?

Enjoy your evening Gentlemen. Goooooooooo Grizzlies, Monsters of the Midway... Chicago Bears that is Although its prime time and they have a way of folding like an accordion when its prime time.
We'll see at -2... I 'd like to see a victory and Pitt to drop to 0-3

IronCurtain NoMas... More like mini blinds this year Kidding. Enjoy

Nice job! I wish I would have been able to use a lift when I swapped out my halogens for LEDs (all corners, rear, license plate, etc.). I used race ramps and there's nothing more fun than working wrenches over your head with little room to navigate.

I always like your thread inserts. Sonia is hawt!

Thank you guys. I'm happy with those LEDs fairly inexpensive upgrade and I believe you'll be pleased as well. I used George at RadioFlier for the purchase. Good guy.

Brian anytime handsome. Are you back working in my area again this week?

Although I have to be a little incognito, inconspicuous at Hooters one of my Xs MariaMia is one of the head servers...

Unfortunately MariaMia has other interest these days...

Not that I can really hold it against both of them. Can you?

Todays not to good for me Blitz as I'm going to WrigleyField later this evening with Andy...
Btw Say hello to 5'2'' 108lb Andrea. Andy as she prefers it is a sweetie ha?

As pertains to you Memo (OldC5) I don't want to start any trouble but your Sonia Phoneya got wind of your remarks on this thread and she's not to excited about them. Heads up Mo, if I was you I'd be walking on eggshells as Sonia wants you to phoneya ASAP be careful Memo she might twist you into a pretzel or two

Enjoy your day Gentlemen and gooooooo Cubies!

They're playing the Pirates and the way Pitt performed last night against the Chicago Bears its probably going to be another walk in the park at beautiful Wrigley

Peter is nuts, but he sure knows how to make a thread interesting.

Good looking swap Peter. Juan did you good.

It's for pics of his "friends" like these that I read his threads whether I'm genuinely curious about the topic or not.

Nice job on the lights, but I can't help wondering why your amigo Juan was working on your rear side markers the hard way. No wonder his face is all screwed up (picture #9). Those two are actually the easiest to change out.

Ya know FRC, I thought so too but he said he looked in the trunk and there was nothing there or does the cover just pop out? I did feel bad as he was trying to get his thick arms up through the sides, got his arms scratched up to get the bulb changed out? For everyone's benefit how's it done Star or should I inquire with Karnac the Magnificent?

In Juan's defense he's not necessarily a finesses guy or a C5 specialist. He's a hard working, good guy and got it done at a fair price. That being said I'll pass the info on to him for future reference. Good day Sir. Thank you.

You can get to the DRL's through the headlight Peter. Just remove the cover, surround, and headlight housing and the DRL's are just below. I've tried both ways and the headlight method is much, much easier.

I believe LoneStar was referring to the rear side red markers. Ed you can't really reach the rear side ones throught the front head lights Mo? Perhaps you can reach it with your LongFellow ? Lol. Or am I missing something here guy? You probably meant rear tail lights right, take off the farthest out and reach in through there? Sure that makes sense.

Rear side red markers is what Juan looks like his pulling his groin out on. I thought that might have been an easier way through the trunk then again he said he checked so I just left him be. He did get it done so for that I was grateful. Oh well, off to Wrigley Field and a few Cervesa Frias I go. Go Cubies!!

Remove the outer tail lights (the same ones that got removed to replace with your new lights, btw ) and reach straight inside. Twist and unplug the bulb socket and then unscrew the two PAL nuts. Easy-peasy.

You can only work with one hand at a time, but definitely no scratched hands/arms, etc.

Here's a pic looking inside the hole:

Hahaha That's funny. Got it thanks Corvette Ed for your erroneous insights lol. Kidding.

If it wasn't for LoneStars clarification here we'd all be in a pickle. You guys are the best.

Although from the looks of that pus on his girl face, I still think Memo (OldC5) is going to get a spanking from his sweetheart Sonia hadtophoneya. I know, I know I was thinking the same thing guys, he'd probably enjoy it. Hahaha

Got to run men. Ciao Signori

OhYeah they are there also and everywhere else all around. Only thing that's left to do is the headlight projection ordeal for a nickel right or is it $600?

Yet I'm not in a hurry for that rather have the steering wheel... After all, can't get your hands around the projection like you can the wheel every time you get in the car...

Then again you can always crash if you can't see the road :/

Sorry about that. I was looking at one thing and thinking about another.

A skill I learned before I traded the ex in for a Corvette.
