Should I pick this FRC over Z06
Please help me look at this car and tell me what you think. Probably can pick it up for $12500-13000.

All the Z06 around my area is 100k miles and asking for $18k+. Or raced and beat up asking for $16k. I want to keep my budge at $20k or less for a nice Z06.

I've owned 7 Z06's.
For $900 you can buy the LS6 cam/heads/intake.
That's about the only MAJOR difference.
Of course if you want yellow or elec blue....
I'd prefer the Nassua Blue

I would have started with a regular coupe if I didn't track and have someone "discouraging" me from modifying the car. Hatchback + removable roof = much better for both daily and weekend use.

I agree. If this is for a fun commuter/dd, go for the coupe. I have a z06 now, but I sure do miss being able to take the top off my previous coupe.

hold out for a Z06.
In my town C5's are everywhere but its pretty rare to see a C5 Z06. Other Car guys really appreciate the Z06, I have alot of fun with my Z06 I wouldnt want a normal C5.
Also everytime I look down at my instrument cluster and it says Z06 it just makes my day.

If you plan to keep it pretty basic on mods then go with a zo6. If you plan to go wild buy the frc. By the time you change things when modding the car a lot of the zo6 stuff is gone or is not as beneficial. For example I am making 700 rwhp and would be better off with base gearing in my trans than zo6 gearing.

If you're going to leave it alone then I say Z, if you're going to modify it then the FRC is just as good a platform for less and you can then put the money you saved in it to make up the difference in handling and power. I never have Z envy with my FRC and most don't know it's not a Z, but those who do know the difference know that it is actually rarer

Its all personal preference...I prefer the trunk (and styling) to the hatch!

If you ever plan on selling it, the Zo6 is the only way to go.. The Z will re-sell faster and will hold it's value over a longer period of time. They both will depreciate over time, but you will always be able to move the Z if you need to.
Buying the Z06 (at the right price) is a better business decision if there is ever a chance you may sell it.

I had a 99 FRC and loved it. BUT every time your next to a Z you will wish you held out. Get the FRC if its the only way into a C5. The base coupe with the removable roof look weak, and get no respect. Sorry but true.
