Good price on this 98 coupe?
Guys, I'm looking at a 98 silver with beige interior and 109K miles. It's in good condition and tires have decent thread.
They want $13K for it. Is it worth pursuing at that price?
Thanks for your input.

i got a '97 about a year ago with almost 80k miles and it was listed for 10.9k or maybe 11.9k can't remember and it was in decent-good condition. i don't know much about prices, hell i probly paid more than i should've for mine but it is what it is, but with those miles 13k may be a little high. but if you really like why not go for it, i'd try to knock em off that price some, hope this helps some

not really a great price especially if they haven't replaced the cooling system or other age items
very common to see 01s with that mileage and sometimes 02's sell for 13

For reference, I bought a Speedway white coupe 2001 with just over 100,000 miles last year for $12,000. I needed to redo the seat leather because of wear. I use it as my daily driver.
It was from an individual in Lexington Ky.

I think the price is a bit high. You don't say what options are on the car but if you can get it cheaper and the car checks out OK mechanically and cosmetically, might be a good buy.

Less than 10 I would say. If it's super nice and clean with good rubber slightly more. There's days I would be tickled to get 11 for my 99.

I have found NADA to be a good reflection of value and it shows that car as being higher than $13k with that mileage so GO FOR IT if you like the car (color, options, transmission) Newer ones are more desirable for a price $$

I just bought a '98 Vert with 55k on her for $12,500 + tax. She's pretty.. needs minor stuff.. totally checked out great with all back records. They were asking $14,900.. I told them what I wanted out the door and five minutes later I owned a Vette. haha Thats in California. None of my friends can believe it.. its even a LOW price for anyone out here.

I payed a bit more for our recent '98 at $15k, they wanted $18k and I may have went as high as $16.5k at the time. But I wanted a low mile (this one had 44k), one owner, clean car fax, no mods, and low prod. color. We have had ours for 2 months now and could not be happier as the car has not shown any hidden surprises. Since I have owned it I have added Corsa axle back and have a Vararam on order. Guess it all comes down to what is put in front of you and how long you are willing to wait for the next one that fits your criteria may appear.

I think the cars might be cheaper in Cali. than in the southern parts. My 03 convertible was about that milage and price two years ago, but it needed a clutch. (clean, good tires and brakes, slightly botched rear window repair.)
Convertibles are a better used choice , much easier to buy since it comes with a giant previous care indicator in the soft top. PLus once you own it, well you are driving a convertible corvette . For me, the top down experience is much more fun. Provided you can avoid traffic.

Is it a private seller or dealer? A dealer probably would mark the car up $3,000 - $5,000 over what they paid. Either way, the $13,000 is a starting point.
If the car meets your requirements and everything checks out, make an offer that you feel is reasonable for the car (not necessarily what you think the seller wants) then see how they respond to your offer. Expect a counter offer and be ready to walk if you don't like the price. A cash deal is also a good tool to negotiate with if you have the funds available.

Keep looking, this past summer I paid $12,800 for 97 Coupe with 62K miles on it. It need breaks and a few other minor repairs but noting I could not do in the drive way. A buddy of mine bought a 98 convertible for $12,000 with 110K.

Corvette Magazine just ran an article on Corvettes to buy. They included the model you identified, 97-98 coupes with 100K to 120K. They said that this Vette, when selling for $10K, is a best buy.
I've seen four within 200 miles of my house asking $11K to $11,500 and that's before you negotiate. I'd say the $13K on that car is a tad high by around $2K.

cash should be changing hands at 10-10.5k
if the seller is willing to listen to that and deal it may be worth buying. some people leave a lot of wiggle room

Two years ago I bought a 2000 coupe with 100k with brand new nittos for 10k. Last year I bought a 99 FRC with 113 k with a bunch of mods very clean for 11800.00 13k is to high for a 98. Make sure no abs and traction control lights are on.
