[Z06] Bought/Sold a C5Z in 2013? - what did you pay/get?
#21
I just bought a black with black interior 2002 Z06 with 46K miles on it. The car is perfect with absolutely no flaws. It does need some minor work on normal wear and tear maintenance items but that was negotiated in the final sale. I paid 21K for it. The car also came with a bluetooth and aftermarket stereo with MP3, plus a 1000W sub. Everything else is stock. I must tell you doing 120 with Iron Maiden cranked at the threshold of pain does not suck. I don't think you are going to see my car for sale anytime soon. I personally think this car is completely under valued and I dare you to find another compared vehicle close to the money anyone has listed here in this thread. I may personally never sell this car. It just has to become a classic. After I am done with the upgrades I will be putting into this beauty, no one will be low balling it off my property. Good luck with your sale and shoot for the moon. Don't think low and give it away. Keep the price high. You deserve it and the ZC5 deserves the respect as well.

2002 z06 with 92k. elderly owned, all stock, still had the original brakes which were basically shot when i got the car. still amazing they went 92k
needed all fluids changed, waterpump was seeping, radiator was full of crud but was overall a very nice car. paid 15k knowing it would need about $1000-1500 in parts.
engine was spotless with the valve cover pulled, cylinders all had about 3% leakdown which is what they had new. old guy literally put putted it across the nation on trips
for the price, i haven't seen a better car yet

My acquisition is 6 months beyond your timeline, but I thought it might offer some insight to "dealer" purchases.
I bought a 2003 c5z06 for $29,000 from the dealer in July 2012. It had 27,000 miles on it, bone stock, Torch Red black leather, steering wheel lock and viper shift conversion completed (and a couple cosmetic additions included--partition, sill guards, exhaust plate, skid guards, lettering inserts). At least 7/32" left all the way around on the Toyo Proxes T1R's. No rust, no leaks, no damage, clean history.
The reason I decided on a dealer purchase was I got the car with a 6yr-120,000 mile warranty (included in my $29k quote).

01 here...mostly stock to my knowledge. Minimal owners, but 138k miles. Pfadt suspension, toyo r888, SLP exhaust. 14,350. Runs good. Have had my first issue today. A coolant leak somewhere at the radiator.

2003 Yellow Z06 - 37K Miles - $17,000 - August 2013
Has a few small things that need fixed (Headliner, window seals, alarm, stereo), but I figured for that price I stole it.

Two week ago bought a pristine, show room, museum piece 2003 MY Z06 with only 19K miles for $24K. Owner also put on new supercar tires for $1700 to sell it.
I am amazed at getting this beautiful barely broken in car for this price. Of course I hit a road alligator (truck tire) driving it home and ruined the nose.

I purchased my car on 8/3
2003 Torch Red Z06 17,600 miles
PRC Stage 2.5 heads
TSP Magic Stick 3 cam
RHS/FAST LSXR 102 intake manifold
Halltech air intake
Kooks longtubes and X-pipe
SLP Loudmouth axleback (immediately swapped for the Ti, too loud with the other mods)
Black 18/19 C6Z replicas wrapped in new BFGoodrich G-Force KDW tires
Lloyd's mats and a nice center console lid with Z06 emblem
$25,750 dealer (NADA retail was $25,700; I found NADA to be quite accurate during my extensive shopping)

What other car value guides are there?

Try this, it is powered by the Black Book I think.

Seems to be fairly close to NADA.

Auto Trader just gave me a quote for my 2004 Z06 with 40,000 miles at $21,000, sight unseen...
Retail is shown to be about $23,200 (average), $27,500 (clean).

NADA is actually based on the market, which is why it's so accurate. The reason NADA shows only trade-in and retail is because it's based on reporting of actual sales averages from participating dealers. I usually figure private party based on NADA to be about midway between the two, with allowances in either direction based on condition.

Bought my 02 Z06 blk/blk, bone stock, one owner with 48k miles and an extra set of wheels for $21,500 in June. The car has perfect interior. It has a small crack in the paint on the trunk lid.
