front windshield tint
Before I get flamed for it's illegal . Yeah I know I've had it before on my mustang paid the fines (fix it) . Looking to see if I find anyone with 40% on the front windshield . It actually helped a lot with glares when I had it . Hope that percentage does not look to dark on a c5. Post them if you got them

When I had Safelight replace the windshield I had then meet me at my tinters and it was tinted 50% before it was installed. The other windows are tinted to the legal limit so you can't even tell the front was done. I didn't do it as an appearance mod, it was to cut down on the amount of rays and heat pouring into my daily driver. It's helped and if anyone is considering it I would say do it.
Also night driving (work at 3pm-midnight) isn't even remotely affected so no worries about that.
Oh and 1 more thing, my tinter was explaining how he and some other people get away with darker tint (on the windshield), by having your optometrist draft a letter requiring you to get it done basically. Keep it in your glove box and you're good to go. Though I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate, as I've never needed to explain my tint as it's not noticeable.

You can get a clear film applied that cuts out 35% or more of UV. It made a big difference in interior heating from sunlight without alarming Officer Friendly.
All you can see is a tiny seam above the mirror:
Of course, if your goal is to add "Sunglasses" and thereby increase the coolness factor it won't help.

Melting Slicks
My Son did the windshield on his E36, clear and it really cuts down on the UV and heat. Will do it to my Vette when I replace the windshield someday, its much cheaper having it done before the windshield is mounted in the car.

The second link is the gold standard for tint laws. The only one to follow for correct and up to date info.

Yep, wanted to point out the vast differences out there
Just went through this with a girl my fiance works with.
Her BF told her to get the whole front glass tinted because he saw it was legal somewhere...yadda yadda. Of course, she did and of course, it isn't unless it is above the AS-1. 100+ to put it on, 20 to pull it off, another 20 to put the top strip on. $140 total now for a 5-6 inch strip.
