Easy swap. I bought a good used one here. There are small differences in the late models verses the early models. My 99 bolted to the seat and the late model had studs. No big deal I just bought 4 metric nuts. All the electrical connectors were the same.

What exactly is wrong with your current seat track?

Well, even not knowing exactly what is wrong with it I cannot imagine 2K to repair it. You could purchase a complete salvaged interior for that price. Even if you are not mechanically inclined, I bet you could get it fixed (regardless of the real problem) for MUCH less by another shop or a friend that has the aptitude/tools. New seat tracks are not that expensive.

If you need a new track then buy one online somewhere and put it on yourself. They don't cost much. It's an easy install. Might take an hour if you take your time. No way I'd shell out 2k for it. You could get new aftermarket seats and tracks for less than 2k.

That's not Corvette tax, that's Corvette FRAUD!!!
I recently had a dealer tell me during an oil change (I don't have a garage or place to do it myself), that my serpentine belt has some minor cracking showing and that they would be happy to replace it for me for $240.00! I just thought "Yeah, I bet you would!!!" I just told them that I would take care of it later as I want to put a Gator-back belt on it.
