I agree that performing a search on your question first will probably lead you into a previous thread covering the subject, however it's also nice to have new threads started if the OP is coming at it from a different perspective as the moderators also don't want us reopening old threads. I did that once when I added a comment/question to the topic I had searched for, only to realize I bumped a thread from 2004!

Go back and read from today posts on wheels and tires .... I'm showing the ones that the wheels that I own are to my knowledge the largest that can be put on a c5 without modding ....
You can read any thread that I've posted here in 2 years and never once did i ask a how to question ... I searched and I read ... Then guess what
I built a car ....

Perhaps your question should've been, "Why don't people read entire posts (or at least the OP's post) before responding with unhelpful spewing?"

You sir ...
Actually, I posted about tire size ratio of two sizes. I didn't ask how big of a tire I could run. In fact, the tires I plan to run are smaller than average and I couldn't find anybody else running the particular sizes since most of the Corvette world shuns what I'm planning to do. Thanks for letting me me know something completely unrelated to my question though, I appreciate it

Let me put this into perspective for you. when I left GM and retired, I came here. I am an absolute expert on many areas of all C5's But Not all areas. This is because I was not involved in those particular projects.
If you can read between the lines, you know where I have a lot of experience and design involment. IN the 12 years and some 30,000 plus help post ( over 20,000 ) in Private message. I've answered the same questions hundreds and hu8ndreds of times. Ive posted in op[en forum hundreds of times, on specific inside information and reasons the C5 and LSX motor were designed the way they were. there are lots of people here who have been here for many years, and ask questions that have been answered many times, by many people including myself.
New people come here all the time looking for answers, they think everyone here knows everything, the truth is I don't know everything.
When I first retired from GM I still had team members that could get me anything I needed. But everyone I know is retired or dead.
I had a guy ( one of the 20,000 ) who private messaged me about a problem. He opened not with an hello but with this: Im too lazy to do a search, and I know its your job to fix problems so can you tell me how too........
in the early years 2000 to 2004 I was getting anywhere from 50 to 100 private messages a day. I spent ten hours a day here on answering these PMs. Many were the same questions over and over.
Bottom line here. New people want to know the same questions long time owners want to know.
I've been frustrated at times myself with the demand. I left this forum on two separate occasions for several months because of many issue here.
Anyway, we have a great forum here. lots of help, lots of great people.. but we also have many legends in their own mind, and many who think they know something. we also have a select group of **** passages, like any other forum.

Really
Not sure what I'm trying to "win". No matter what, you're cheap reproduction wheels had nothing to do with my comment. I hope your "monster meats" help you feel better about your tool though. By the way, congrats on fitting them, even if they do slow your car down a bit.
Oh yeah, it's "you're"

You can usually tell those with superior knowledge by the content of their posts... The few big ones that come to my mind are you, Gene Culley and Bill Curlee. This Forum is fortunate to have members like you guys that take the time and answer these redundant questions!
