Too much oil after oil change

Too much oil after oil change
It looks like I put a little too much oil in my 02 z06. It is about a centimeter past the full line (I can take a pic if that hels). The garage I was doing the oil change in was dark and I guess I didn't see it was full when I added more oil in.
My question is: 1. Is this bad for the car? I read that if your taking it to the track or autoX you want to put more oil in it.
2. If so is there an easy way to get some oil out without draining it from the oil pan? Thanks!

I would recommend not driving (or even starting/letting it run) the car with too much oil in it. Pull the drain plug and get it back to the correct level. It will be a bit messy, but in my estimation worth it.

[QUOTE=Masterofsod;1584539432]Can I drain it and fill with the same oil? It has like 50miles on it since the oil change
You can but why not just put new oil , or just take Mr. Bill advice 7 qts is ok. I am pretty sure you didn't put more than seven . Most of us buy 7 and put 6.5 . If you put more than 7 you need to let some else do your oil change .

Yes my dipstick shows slightly over the full mark when I put in 7 quarts. But I have a question for you. Since you said your reading is 1 centimeter (0.39 inches) over the full mark I'm assuming your in an area that uses the metric system. So did you put in 7 guarts or 7 liters? If it's 7 liters that may be too much.

From the owner's manual:
"Do not check the engine oil level after the engine has
been sitting overnight. A higher than normal reading
might be obtained. Check oil level with the oil warm.
Turn off the engine and give the oil a few minutes to
drain back into the oil pan. If you don’t, the oil dipstick
might not show the actual level"

I agree, 7 quarts won't hurt anything.
